Eugenio Derbez
Eugenio González Derbez, or Eugenio Derbez, is known throughout the Latin community
to be a successful comedic actor and director. He is known mostly in Hispanic culture for "La
Familia P. Luche," a sitcom that ran from 1994 until 2012 and is one of the television networks
Univision's longest-running and most successful sitcoms. He's known in America more for the
movies How to be a Latin Lover (2017), Overboard (2018), and Instructions not Included
(2013).
Eugenio was born on September 2, 1962, in Mexico City, Mexico's capital, and is
currently 59 years old. Both his parents are also of Mexican descent. After residing in America,
Eugenio settled down with his family in Los Angles, a California city. Eugenio started his career
in Mexico as an actor and eventually became a successful actor, writer, producer, and director.
He built himself a TV and film production company and earned a degree in acting, film
directing, and has trained in the arts of dancing, singing, and music.
In 2013 Eugenio Derbez directed and co-wrote, Instructions not Included in Mexico, and
it was considered the most successful Spanish-speaking movie in the United States and
worldwide when it first came out, earning over 100 Million dollars.
Eugenio has never really faced any hardships other than trying to break the Hispanic
stereotype in America, but he did create a fundraiser in 2017 for Mexicos Earthquake Relief. All
the money raised went directly to the Mexico Rises Earthquake Fund. In Mexico, many places
hit, and on September 19 a 7.1-magnitude earthquake also hit both killing hundreds of people.
Eugenio had the support of the entertainment community that helped get his country through that
painful moment.
Eugenio is an icon for many Hispanics in America and around the world. He has inspired
many, and from him, we can learn that just because someone is from a different place doesn't
mean they can't provide something significant to society. He has tried to break the Hispanic
stereotype and has done this through humor in his movies. Eugenio has taught us that we
shouldn't give up on our dreams, no matter what hardships we face. His vision was to make to
the United States and become a famous actor, but no matter how close Mexico is to Los Angles,
there is always a problem with diversity, but he didn't give up. In 2014 Variety named Eugenio
Derbez at the top of the Most Influential Latios list along with Sofia Vergara, and he earned a
star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016. He continues to inspire many up to this day.
