NOTE. Some parameters specified on the data sheet are performed only on occasions as they are set by design or
monitored only on a batch sample
a/ Frequency correction
SETUP Disconnect the 10MHz External reference. Input power -20dBm Measure frequency output at 13.125GHz as
accurately as possible with the analyser.
With the frequency count function check the frequency of the output signal and record.
1325 13.125000007
b/ locking
with SETUP as above connect a GPS based External reference at +3dBm of 10MHz power and observe the frequency
shifts slightly and locks. Insert a 6dB PAD in the 10MHz input and check the unit is still locked to the external
reference.
USES INTERNAL REFERENCE WITH EXT REF ABSENT
EXT. REF LOCKING OPERATES IN -3 TO 3dBm RANGE
BAND 1
SETUP Connect scalar analyser input to DUT. 950-1950MHz, -17dBm. Connect scalar analyser to Output, 12.75-
13.75GHz
METHOD Produce plot showing gain, band flatness and return loss.
GAIN SLOPE
RETURN LOSS
PHASE NOISE
OUTPUT SPURIOUS
Any spurious output can be classified as being related to the signal being passed through the converter, at any power in
the normal operation range of the unit, or not related to a signal passing through the unit. In addition, spurious signals
can be classified as being within the output band of the converter or out of the operational band of the converter.
Interfering external signals being fed into the unit by whatever means do not form part of the specification but within
the EMC regulations relating to the unit. This converter is only specified for carrier related and non-carrier related in-
band spurious signals and out of band signals although determined for internal purposes do not form part of the
specification

BAND 2
SETUP Connect scalar analyser input to DUT. 950-1700MHz, -17dBm. Connect scalar analyser to Output, 13.75-
14.50GHz
METHOD Produce plot showing gain, band flatness and return loss.
