3.1 Introduction

Before contacting Assistance, please be ready with the following elements:

• Nos. of the procedures implemented (G01 to G11),
• The sequence used (S0x),
• The stage you have reached (depends on the procedure being used).

3.2 Example of the type of information you need to provide

You have implemented procedure G10 (Wipers), sequence S06 corresponding to

« Check on the rear screen wiper function » and you have arrived at stage N° 2.1 in
the flow chart.
You will say to your contact : G10 - S06 - 2.1.

4 Recommendations - precautions

Before any consequent operation, it is essential to check :

• the battery voltage,
• the fuses,
• that the shunt is correctly positioned on the BSI (the shunt should be in the
“Customer” position),
• that the BSI is not in back-up mode (see : “Preliminary checks on the BSI” below).

5 Functions

5.1 Locking of the boot :

On some vehicles, following driving, the boot can only be opened after you have
opened the driver’s door.

5.2 Locking of doors and tailgate when the vehicle is moving :

Locking of the doors when the vehicle is moving, if this function is provided on the
vehicle, can be activated by a configuration parameter.
In the diagnostic tool menu : « BSI », « PROGRAMMING », « CONFIGURATION »,
« LOCKING – DOORS AND TAILGATE – IMMOBILISER – ALARM », parameter :
« LOCKING WHILE DRIVING OPTION ».

5.3 Thermic protection of the locks :

If the locks are activated several times in succession, the thermic protection of the
locks is activated and the locks cannot be operated for a certain time.
The activation of this protection can be checked in the diagnostic tool menu : « BSI »,
« PARAMETER MEASURES », « LOCKING » parameter « THERMIC LOCK
PROTECTION ACTIVE ».

Page 5 / 24
5.4 Impact of the function in the BSI

5.4.1 Configuration

A certain number of configuration parameters are memorised in the BSI :

• « Locking while driving option » (absent / present)
• « Independent driver’s door unlocking option » (absent / present)
• « Interior locking button option » (absent / present)
• « High frequency reception (locking) option » (absent / present)
• « Deadlocking option » (absent / present)
• « Option for automatic relocking after unlocking by high frequency remote
control » (absent / present)
• « Presence of unlocking button » (yes / no)
• « Automatic relocking » (yes / no)
• « Type of locking » (no locking / simple locking / deadlocking)
• « Option for permanent locking of the boot » (absent / present)

WARNING : Of the above parameters, the diagnostic tool only displays those that
are actually present in the BSI software.
So, depending on the software version of the BSI, only some of the parameters
featured above will be displayed by the diagnostic tool.

These parameters can be accessed from the menu « MANUAL PROGRAMMING»,

« CONFIGURATION », « LOCKING – DOORS AND TAILGATE – IMMOBILISER –
ALARM », after starting communication with the BSI using the diagnostic tool.

5.4.2 Parameter measures

A certain number of parameters can be accessed in the BSI.

They are accessible from the menu « parameter measures », then from the sub-
menu « locking ».

o Foldback of rear view mirrors by high frequency remote control
o Multiplexed electric rear view mirrors
o Multiplexed electric rear view mirrors with foldback
o Rear view mirrors indexed to reverse gear
o Multiplexed rear view mirrors with memorisation
o Rear view mirrors indexed to reverse gear and to the direction indicators.

WARNING : Of the above parameters, the diagnostic tool only displays those that
are actually present in the BSI software.
So, depending on the software version of the BSI, only some of the parameters
featured above will be displayed by the diagnostic tool.

Check and deal with the faults present at the door modules.

11 G05][S05] : Problem with initialisation and synchronisation of high
frequency remote controls

If the initialisation and synchronisation of the remote controls goes well but the
remote controls do not work, change the key as well as the remote control.

Procedure for synchronisation of the high frequency remote controls :

1. Switch off the ignition, remove the key.
2. Wait one minute without pressing the b uttons on any remote control.
3. Place one of the keys in the ignition, go to ignition plus.
4. Within ten seconds, press on the locking button for 5 seconds.
5. Switch off the ignition and remove the key.
6. Repeat the procedure with the other keys from point N°3, otherwise go to point
N°7
7. Wait 30 seconds, the remote controls are active .

This procedure can be used at any time, without the need for a diagnostic tool.

Warning : If you press on one of the buttons on a remote control when it is

desynchronised, this will cause the BSI to go into antiscanning mode for one minute.
During this phase, resynchronisation is prohibited.
