technique, that gives predictable results for the management of the defect in the frontal area.

This module is an overview on the general principles of implant healing and time of loading. These
include situations that require a specific procedure in the surgery or prosthetic plan, furthermore it is
focused on the management of bone augmentation. Indications and contra indications to the GBR
and sinus lift techniques will be widely discussed. Particular attention will be given to the
complications and to the way to avoid and manage such clinical situations

CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS
The course is open to enroll dentists with no qualifications except their dental degree.
Every student must treat at least 3 patients and the final presentation must include 3 cases with at
least all the three following topics:
Periodontal surgery (open flap debridement, crown lengthening)
Implant placement (implant in healed bone or immediate implant)
Guided bone regeneration in combination with implants treatment
Implants, abutments, surgical kits and motors for hands on and clinical training will be provided to
participants.
After passing the written exam and the case presentation the candidate will be awarded with the
certificate issued by University of Genova of FELLOWSHIP IN NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN
PERIODONTOLOGY AND IMPLANTOLOGY.
FACILITIES
……….University must provide and allocate the clinical facilities and simulation labs for the hands
on. All the facilities must be surgically equipped and all the medical device in good conditions.
Companies at no cost will provide implants, abutments, surgical kits and motors for hands on and
clinical training to participants.
