What can help us all as learners move from the positions inherited from our own past? If
language is a badge which has the potential to exclude as well as to include how can we
help build communities which have their own sense of identity and the confidence to
embrace and celebrate difference? These are two questions to which we must seek answers
by sharing goals, aspirations and good practices with colleagues from the member states
and beyond. We note the importance of providing opportunities for young learners to have
contact with the primary school and also that this contact is equally important for adults. We
have moved out from knowing about the language to knowing how to use it in contextually
appropriate ways. It would be somewhat odd if we were to argue against the very real
benefits of direct contact with speakers of the target language. It follows from this that
colleagues involved in language education at all levels have a responsibility to promote the
movement of learners and to develop exchanges which will facilitate this movement.
Paradoxically, travel is apparently much easier than in the past but time pressure on
learners; clients and faculty can make it increasingly difficult for movement and exchanges to
take place.
The Problem
We have to discuss the deficiency of Skills or Skill gap the industry is facing Technology jobs
are required in every industry sector and the need for individuals with information technology
skills continues to grow. Industry 4.0 is well underway and growing manufacturing jobs are
exacerbating the shortage as the time to fill technology jobs increases and the supply
remains well below what is needed. Community workforce development strategies must look
beyond traditional training and implement plans to boost technology skills for emerging,
transitioning and current workforce in every sector.
There have been four industrial revolutions since the late 1700’s each brought about by
innovation. The first was driven by mechanization and steam power; the second by electricity
and mass production. The third began in the 1980’s with computers and automation. And in
2013, America moved from the third industrial revolution to the fourth – known as I4 or
Industry 4.0 – denoted by cyber physical systems. The I4 drivers are artificial intelligence, big
data analytics and faster, smaller computing - all connecting and freely flowing in a high tech,
high speed and wireless cloud.
Each revolution was disruptive, and each drove major changes in workforce development.
But what is markedly different now is that work is being done in a cloud. This means that
everything is interconnected – including the workforce. This is indeed leading to disruption,
but also greater opportunities. For industry to seize on this chance, their workforce must be
prepared. The I4 impact is happening rapidly and the so must the pace at which the
education and training system must respond – and accelerate. At the core of preparing the
talent for I4 are skills like problem solving, systems thinking, active learning and technology.
How do we fix this? There’s much work to be done to close the skills gap in the age of I4.
The first step is recognizing there is not only a skills gap – but a technology skills gap. The
second step is ensuring your community workforce development plan is centered on
advancing technology skills for both the short and long-term talent pipeline for its core
clusters like manufacturing, logistics, heath care, bio-tech and others. With the current
workforce trend is that as many workers will be over 40 as under, companies will have to
ensure technology training is a core part of professional development for all workers. For the
emerging workforce, community strategy needs to ensure the talent pipeline has a robust
career navigation plan for students that include technology skill development and tracking
their Science, Technology, Engineering and Math [STEM] readiness at every node on their
career trajectory.
The bottom line is following the rate race and trying to win it instead of being different and
following one’s passion.
Case studies
Many people go through their whole life saying that I didn’t have a good start to my life so
that is why I shall remain where I am. The mistake that many people make is that they don’t
seem to be aware that the beginning of their life does not determine their end. People say I
did not do good before so that is why I am not doing much with my life, so what does that
mean, you have just given up halfway into your life, it does not matter what you didn’t do
yesterday, you have the power to change your life right at this moment, you can start right
now to take your life in a whole new direction.
It is never too late to start on a new journey and take your life to the heights of greatness, the
choice is yours how you want to live your life. The limited life is the one which most people
choose to confine themselves to because that is the easy path, and most people are just lazy
and lack ambition. Is that you? are you just going to cower away and let your life not amount
to much as the masses do?. What is so hard in living an average life, a life filled with no
adventure and exploration into the unknown, cowards die a thousand deaths, but the
courageous die only once. Step it up right now, this day is the day that you demand more
from yourself and say I will take my life to new heights, I am determined to create the life of
my dreams and I am the one who shall make it happen.
Believe in yourself and take action today, too many people stop living after a certain age,
they just live life like a robot doing the same things days after day, not doing much with their
days but living to pay their bills. What a timid existence that is, what a waste of one’s
potential it is to resign yourself to mediocrity.
Take a cue from these computer engineering professionals and learn from their success
stories:
Vinay Kumar, a B.Tech graduate in CSE has joined GOODRICH. He started learning from
basics with complete practical exposure. In a span of 6 months, he has become a champion
of various programming skills and now became a Consultant for multi-national company.
Another Mr.Sandeep, 2018 pass-out from JNTU Affiliated College joined reputed Institute. He
was in a trauma in taking up the package of courses. He had stress from his parents and
relatives. He could not take decision. Meanwhile, he started learning under our guidance.
Our Institute has given Personality Development Training also, not to lose confidence in life.
Finally, he became an employee in a start-up company.
Starting a career as a successful computer engineer can lead to a rewarding and lucrative
career path. Computer science and engineering principles will continue to be applied to new
applications, environments, and situations where human beings can utilize computational
powers to improve product quality and service levels.
If you’re still deciding your major in university, there is no denying that computer engineering
programs will contribute to a future full of job opportunities. But if you're wondering how to get
that engineering degree or how to build a career in computer engineering, then it's worth
reviewing how other professionals in the field achieved success in their careers. Discover
how these computer engineers made a successful career for themselves.
