2. Manufacturing stages in brief ( without Chemistry steps & mechanism) of manmade


Fibers such as viscose rayon, Acetate rayon, nylon, polyester, Acrylic & polypropylene.

3. Brief study of physical & chemical properties of above fibers.

4. Brief study of cotton, wool & silk fiber. Preparation, their physical & chemical
properties.

5. Identification process of all textile fibers.

6. Brief study of Filament yarn, staple yarn, textured yarn, twisted yarn.

7. Introduction of woven-Nonwoven Fabrics-knitted Fabrics.

1. Line diagram of manufacturing stages of various manmade fibers.

2. Study of physical properties of manmade fibers

3. Study of Chemical properties of manmade fibers

4. Microscopic examination of Longitudinal & cross sectional views of different fibers.

Evolving forms and their organisation into designs (Pattern) in view technical
scope and limitation with colour material-yarn.

interest and functional value.

composition, colour.

PRACTICAL –

Design Concepts

Study of the following themes :

1. Expression of patterns created in nature object drawing, textures different techniques of


sketching.

2. Understanding of the Floral, Geometric, Conversational , Art movements and styles

3. Application of colour through exercises on paper Different Mediums :

4. Water colour pen & Ink, poster colour, coloured ink, Acrylic pastel.

Term Work :

About 8 specimens be submitted in the suitable size/Repeat required for specific purpose from the

Suggested Exercises in Drawing -


- Fashion drawing

1. Make ten quick sketches of figures with sketch pen in different postures and dresses.
2. Illustrate six figures in colour with different dresses.
3. Trace a figure in nude from magazine and dress in four different outfits- short dress with
collar, full length sleeveless round neck dress. Checked & striped dress-importance of design
& pattern
4. Illustrate birds and butterflies in natural surroundings in water colour, suitable for children
wear in 6'square.
5. Make study of any fabric-both printed and plain, illustrate in colour a figure with a dress of
the same fabric. Importance should be given to drape of the fabric the light and shade in
folds, on a half imperial sheet.
6. Make study of any printed fabric and illustrate in colour four different outfits for which you
think the print is suitable on a full imperial sheet.
7. Three figures in a composition with bold lines with backdrop of tie and dye effect. Work on a

half imperial sheet.
8. Opaque two figures in tones of gray and black. In the background show a woven design in
colour work on a half imperial sheet.
9. Compose five figures on a half imperial sheet using college only

11. Compose four figures on a half imperial sheet in black lines with a coloured background of
optical illusion.
12. Stylish figures & paint in 3/4 colour work on a half imperial sheet
13. Compose silhouettes figure with a black line and fill with dots, lines waves and zig zag lines.
Work with only black ink on half imperial sheet.
14. Compose figures in perspective on a half imperial sheet giving importance for the basic
proportion with a sheet giving importance to the basic proportion with a black sketch pen.
