1) Explain the types of knowledge management? Subjective and objective views of

knowledge?
Ans- Knowledge management is the process of creating, sharing, using and managing the
knowledge and information of an organization. It is basically managing people, process and
technology.

Types of knowledge management

1. subjective
2. objective
3. General Vs. Specific knowledge:
4. Tacit Vs. Explicit knowledge
5. Procedural Vs. Declarative knowledge

 Subjective: something is subjective when it depends on

personal preference, interpretation, belief or opinion.
. For example, “Chocolate ice cream is the most delicious flavour of
ice cream ever!” This statement is the case because I think it so, and
not because it is the case independent of my personal opinion.

 Objective: Something is objective when it is independent of an

individual’s personal preference, interpretation, belief or
opinion.
For example, 2×2=4 is the case whether or not one agrees or feels any
different on the matter.

2) Discuss KM life cycle and aligning KM?

Ans- Knowledge management cycle is a process of transforming information into knowledge

within an organization. It explains how knowledge is captured, processed, and distributed in an
organization.
3) A) TACIT VS EXPLICIT
Explicit knowledge is the most basic form of knowledge and is easy to pass along
because it’s written down and accessible. When data is processed, organized, structured,
and interpreted, the result is explicit knowledge. Explicit knowledge is easily articulated,
recorded, communicated, and most importantly in the world of knowledge management,
stored.
Example – data, files, books etc.

Tacit knowledge is the knowledge that we possess that is garnered from personal
experience and context. It’s the information that, if asked, would be the most difficult to
write down, articulate, or present in a tangible form.
Examples – experience, thinking, commitment, competence, processetc
b) Procedural Vs. Declarative knowledge: Declarative knowledge will be
knowledge about realities and things, knowledge that something is the
situation. Conversely, procedural knowledge will be knowledge about how
to play out certain intellectual exercises, for example, thinking, dynamic,
and critical thinking
