Ender 27 S Game
Ender's Game is a science fiction novel written by the American author Orson Scott Card in 1985.
The book came from the short story with the same name, published in 'Analog Science Fiction and Fact'
in 1977. Card later wrote more books to create the Ender's Game series. An updated version of Ender's
Game was released in 1991, updating some political facts in the book to accurately reflect the era.
Themes of the book are love, hate, prejudice, strength and courage.
Orson Scott Card was born on 24 August, 1951. He is an American author, critic, public speaker,
columnist, and political activist. He has written books in several genres, but is primarily known for his
science fiction. His novel "Ender's Game" and its sequel "Speaker for the Dead" (1986) both won Hugo
and Nebula Awards. Thanks to this, Card is the only author to win both top US prizes of Science Fiction in
consecutive years.
This novel tells the story of a young boy, Ender Wiggin, who is sent to a training academy named
Battle School, located in orbit above the Earth, built to train people to become soldiers that will one day
battle against a vast alien race known as "Buggers". Ender goes up there, trying his best to become
promoted in the difficult training scheme. For him, training is tough but he is trying to restore the world
and make it a better place. Lucky for him, he was given a very special teacher who will help him become
the commander to save humanity from the third invasion.
We encountered different characters with different personalities in this book. The main character,
Ender, is brave, determined, but whether he is kind or mean changes as he progresses through Battle
School. He likes to find consolation together with Valentine, his sister but on the other hand, his brother,
Peter hates him. All other characters also behaved differently and together, they create interesting
relationships concerning Elder. These personalities is the cause of the twists and turns in the book which
made it more exciting as it gives readers more people to understand, to decipher and to think if they
would really be a friend or a foe.
This novel has an interesting narrative style. Orson Scott Card has placed appropriate descriptions
in every scenes, and he always narrates in an exciting manner. One of his style is provoking tension in
the book is by having an unidentified narrator at the beginning of every chapter. This way, readers
became more hooked or attached to the story as they have something to think about. They would think
if it was Elder's point of view or maybe it was one of the Buggers. Card made every part or every
beginning of the chapter exciting to stimulate the desire of the readers to continue reading. Card also
made sure that the plot was unpredictable and readers would have no way of knowing what would be
next.
In conclusion, Ender's Game is an action-packed story that shows how people behave. The
language used by the author is moderately strong that I think readers over 13 years old who like Science
Fiction will love the story but for younger readers, the language used maybe somewhat complex.
Every beginning of this novel will instantly hook you as you are thrust or thrown into unknown
situations. This may cause confusion but slowly, new informations will be revealed. It was also exciting
as the readers will never know whats next. Sometimes ordinary day for the hero but will turn into battle.
Also, this novel holds a sad and strong ending that is enough to made us reflect on our behavior and on
the book's event. It made us think if the characters really deserve what happened to them.
Overall, this book is highly recommended because of its meaning, excitement and
unpredictability.I recommend to enjoy reading this novel because it tackles the life of a young boy who
experienced to be bullied by others not expecting that they're bullying is one of their future leader. It
might have focus on sci fiction genre but it's lesson is connected with the reality we live in.Grab your
cellphone and download this novel, because it will never bring you down.
