The emails reveal that Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at Burisma, Vadym Pozharskyi, less than a year before Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian officials to fire the prosecutor investigating Burisma. The emails also show Pozharskyi thanking Hunter Biden for the opportunity to meet Joe Biden.

An email from April 2015 mentions a meeting between Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Vadym Pozharskyi in Washington D.C., where Pozharskyi thanked Hunter Biden for the opportunity to meet Joe Biden.

An earlier email from May 2014 shows Pozharskyi asking Hunter Biden for 'advice on how you could use your influence' on behalf of Burisma, where Pozharskyi was a top executive.

Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top
executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder
Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who
was investigating the company, according to emails obtained by The Post.

The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation

that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent
Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma
board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet
your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and
pleasure,” the email reads.

An earlier email from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s
No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on
the company’s behalf.

The blockbuster correspondence — which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim
that he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” — is
contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.

The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of
Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute

video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction
problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified
woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.
The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never
paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were
stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the
client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but
said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after
Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.

Photos of a Delaware federal subpoena given to The Post show that both the
computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI in December, after the shop’s
owner says he alerted the feds to their existence.

But before turning over the gear, the shop owner says, he made a copy of the
hard drive and later gave it to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert
Costello.
Steve Bannon, former adviser to President Trump, told The Post about the
existence of the hard drive in late September and Giuliani provided The Post
with a copy of it on Sunday.

Less than eight months after Pozharskyi thanked Hunter Biden for the
introduction to his dad, the then-vice president admittedly pressured Ukrainian
President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk into getting
rid of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin by threatening to withhold a $1 billion
US loan guarantee during a December 2015 trip to Kiev.

“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired,
you’re not getting the money,” Biden infamously bragged to the Council on
Foreign Relations in 2018.

“Well, son of a bitch. He got fired.”

Shokin has said that at the time of his firing, in March 2016, he’d made “specific
plans” to investigate Burisma that “included interrogations and other crime-
investigation procedures into all members of the executive board, including
Hunter Biden.”

Joe Biden has insisted that the US wanted Shokin removed over corruption
concerns, which were shared by the European Union.

Meanwhile, an email dated May 12, 2014 — shortly after Hunter Biden joined
the Burisma board — shows Pozharskyi attempting to get him to use his political
leverage to help the company.

The message had the subject line “urgent issue” and was also sent to Hunter
Biden’s business partner, Devon Archer, who also sat on the Burisma board at
the time.

Pozharskyi said that “the representatives of new authorities in power tend to

quite aggressively approach N. Z. unofficially with the aim to obtain cash from
him.”

N.Z. isn’t identified in the email but appears to be a reference to Burisma

founder Mykola Zlochevsky, whose first name is a Ukrainian version of
“Nicholas.”

When the alleged shakedown failed, “they proceeded with concrete actions” in
the form of “one or more pretrial proceedings,” Pozharskyi wrote.
“We urgently need your advice on how you could use your influence to convey
a message / signal, etc .to stop what we consider to be politically motivated
actions,” he added.

Hunter Biden responded by saying he was with Archer in Doha, Qatar, and
asked for more information about “the formal (if any) accusations being made
against Burisma.”

“Who is ultimately behind these attacks on the company? Who in the current
interim government could put an end to such attacks?” he added.

The exchange came the same day that Burisma announced it had expanded
its board of directors by adding Hunter Biden, who was put in charge of its “legal
unit and will provide support for the Company among international
organizations,” according to a news release that’s since been scrubbed from
Burisma’s website.

Hunter Biden actually joined the board in April 2014, according to multiple
reports.

His lawyer said last year that Hunter was “not a member of the management
team,” adding, “At no time was Hunter in charge of the company’s legal affairs.”

About four months after Hunter Biden’s correspondence with Pozharskyi,

Archer forwarded Hunter Biden an email chain with the subject line “tax raise
impact on Burisma production,” which included Pozharskyi saying that the
Ukrainian cabinet had submitted new tax legislation to the country’s parliament.

“If enacted, this law would kill the entire private gas production sector in the
bud,” Pozharskyi wrote.

In the Sept. 24, 2014, email, Pozharskyi also said he was “going to share this
information with the US embassy here in Kyiv, as well as the office of Mr Amos
Hochstein in the States.”

At the time, Hochstein was the State Department’s newly appointed special
envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs.

In December 2017, the Naftogaz Group, Ukraine’s state-owned energy
company, announced that Hochstein had joined the company as an
independent director, but on Monday he announced his resignation.

“The company has been forced to spend endless amounts of time combating
political pressure and efforts by oligarchs to enrich themselves through
questionable transactions,” Hochstein wrote in an op-ed published by the Kyiv
Post.

In addition to denying that’s he’s spoken to Hunter Biden about his overseas
business dealings, Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any conflict of interest or
wrongdoing by either of them involving Burisma.

Last February, he got testy during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show

when co-host Savannah Guthrie questioned whether it was “wrong for [Hunter]
to take that position, knowing that it was really because that company wanted
access to you.”

“Well, that’s not true. You’re saying things you do not know what you’re talking
about,” the elder Biden responded.

Last December, Joe Biden also lashed out during a Democratic primary town
hall event in Iowa, where a man accused him of sending Hunter to Ukraine “to
get a job and work for a gas company, he had no experience with gas or
nothing, in order to get access to . . . the president.”
“You’re a damn liar, man. That’s not true and no one has ever said that,” Biden
fumed.

Biden then continued berating the man as he stepped forward, called the man
“fat” and challenged him to “do push-ups together, man.”

The FBI referred questions about its seizure of the laptop and hard drive to the
Delaware US Attorney’s Office, where a spokesperson said, “My office can
neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation.”

Hunter Biden’s lawyer refused to comment on the specifics but instead attacked
Giuliani.

“He has been pushing widely discredited conspiracy theories about the Biden
family, openly relying on actors tied to Russian intelligence,” the lawyer, George
R. Mesires, said of Giuliani.

Pozharskyi and the Joe Biden campaign did not return requests for comment.
Hochstein could not be reached.

Emails reveal how Hunter Biden tried to

cash in big on behalf of family with
Chinese firm
By Emma-Jo Morris and Gabrielle Fonrouge

October 15, 2020 | 5:00am | Updated

Hunter Biden pursued lucrative deals involving China’s largest private energy
company — including one that he said would be “interesting for me and my
family,” emails obtained by The Post show.
One email sent to Biden on May 13, 2017, with the subject line “Expectations,”
included details of “remuneration packages” for six people involved in an unspecified
business venture.

Biden was identified as “Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC,” an
apparent reference to the former Shanghai-based conglomerate CEFC China Energy
Co.

His pay was pegged at “850” and the email also noted that “Hunter has some office
expectations he will elaborate.”

In addition, the email outlined a “provisional agreement” under which 80 percent of the
“equity,” or shares in the new company, would be split equally among four people
whose initials correspond to the sender and three recipients, with “H” apparently
referring to Biden.

The deal also listed “10 Jim” and “10 held by H for the big guy?”

Neither Jim nor the “big guy” was identified further.

The email’s author, James Gilliar of the international consulting firm J2cR, also noted,
“I am happy to raise any detail with Zang if there is [sic] shortfalls ?”

“Zang” is an apparent reference to Zang Jian Jun, the former executive director of CEFC
China.

The email is contained in a trove of data that the owner of a computer repair shop in
Delaware said was recovered from a MacBook Pro laptop that was dropped off in April
2019 and never retrieved.

The computer was seized by the FBI, and a copy of its contents made by the shop owner
shared with The Post this week by former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Another email — sent by Biden as part of an Aug. 2, 2017, chain — involved a deal he
struck with the since-vanished chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, for half-ownership of
a holding company that was expected to provide Biden with more than $10 million a
year.
Ye, who had ties to the Chinese military and intelligence service, hasn’t been seen since
being taken into custody by Chinese authorities in early 2018, and CEFC went bankrupt
earlier this year, according to reports.

Biden wrote that Ye had sweetened the terms of an earlier, three-year consulting
contract with CEFC that was to pay him $10 million annually “for introductions alone.”

A photo dated Aug. 1, 2017, shows a handwritten flowchart of the ownership of

“Hudson West” split 50/50 between two entities ultimately controlled by Hunter Biden
and someone identified as “Chairman.”

According to a report on Biden’s overseas business dealings released last month by

Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a company called Hudson
West III opened a line of credit in September 2017.

Credit cards issued against the account were used by Hunter, his uncle James Biden and
James’ wife, Sara Biden, to purchase more than $100,000 “worth of extravagant items,
including airline tickets and multiple items at Apple Inc. stores, pharmacies, hotels and
restaurants,” the report said.
The company has since been dissolved, and Hunter Biden’s law firm, Owasco PC, was
one of two owners, according to the report.

Biden’s email was sent to Gongwen Dong, whom the Wall Street Journal in October
2018 tied to the purchase by Ye-linked companies of two luxury Manhattan apartments
that cost a total on $83 million.

Dong, who owns a sprawling mansion in Great Neck, LI, has been identified in reports
as CFO of the Kam Fei Group, an investment firm based in Hong Kong.

Ye Jianming, former chairman of the Shanghai-based CEFC China Energy

conglomerate
The documents obtained by The Post also include an “Attorney Engagement Letter”
executed in September 2017 in which one of Ye’s top lieutenants, former Hong Kong
government official Chi Ping Patrick Ho, agreed to pay Biden a $1 million retainer for
“Counsel to matters related to US law and advice pertaining to the hiring and legal
analysis of any US Law Firm or Lawyer.”

In December 2018, a Manhattan federal jury convicted Ho in two schemes to pay $3

million in bribes to high-ranking government officials in Africa for oil rights in Chad
and lucrative business deals in Uganda.

Ho served a three-year prison sentence and was deported to Hong Kong in June.

Neither Biden’s lawyer, the Joe Biden campaign, Gilliar, Dong nor Ho’s lawyers
returned requests for comment, but Biden’s lawyer has previously said, “There is no
need for comment on any so-called information provided by Rudy Giuliani.

“He has been pushing widely discredited conspiracy theories about the Biden family,
openly relying on actors tied to Russian intelligence. His record of dishonesty in these
matters speaks for itself,” lawyer George Mesires added.

‘Broke’ Hunter Biden got $450K tax lien

‘resolved’ within days: report

MORE ON:
HUNTER BIDEN
Hunter Biden settled a $450,000 tax debt within six days last month, despite
recently claiming he was too broke to pay child support, according to a new
report, raising further questions about his financial dealings.

The son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was slapped with the
hefty lien on July 9 by the District of Columbia for unpaid state income taxes,
and despite having no clear job, was able to “resolve” the bill in the space of a
week, the Washington Free Beacon reported Monday.
A spokesman for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in DC confirmed to the
publication that the younger Biden, 50, was released on July 15 after the “tax
issue was resolved.”

It’s unclear how the potential first son was able to pay off the nearly half-million-
dollar debt so quickly, but the report raises further questions about the family’s
murky financial dealings.

Before the pandemic, Senate Republicans had been preparing to investigate

Hunter Biden’s job on the board of notoriously corrupt Ukrainian gas company
Burisma Holdings, for which he was paid $50,000 a month despite having no
experience in the energy sector.

At the time, his father was vice president and in charge of US policy toward
Ukraine.

Both Bidens have denied doing anything improper.

Hunter Biden’s financial woes were made public last year when he was sued
by an ex-stripper with whom he fathered a child. He argued he couldn’t make
child support payments because he was broke.

“I attest that I am unemployed and have had no monthly income since May
2019,” the former lobbyist wrote in a November 2019 affidavit before settling
with the woman out of court in March.

The father of five also told the court he was in “significant debt” from his divorce
with his ex-wife, who accused him of blowing their money on hookers, strip
clubs and drugs.

Biden became a father for the fifth time in March when his second wife, Melissa
Cohen, gave birth amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He married Cohen just weeks after splitting from Hallie Biden, the widow of his
late brother, Beau.

The couple continue to be spotted driving a Porsche Panamera, which retails

at $129,000, and Biden purchased a $2.5 million home in Hollywood Hills last
June.

The Honorable Christopher Wray
Director
Federal Bureau of Investigation
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Room 7240
Washington, DC 20535-0001
Dear Director Wray,
Yesterday, the New York Post published an article entitled, “Smoking-gun email reveals how
Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad.” The article documents how a recently
uncovered laptop and hard drive allegedly revealed e-mails to and from Hunter Biden that strongly
indicated that former Vice President Joe Biden was, in fact, aware of his son’s overseas dealings.
Most concerning in the article was the allegation that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
was in possession of this computer and hard drive back in December 2019. This action took place
right at the end of the U.S. House of Representative’s impeachment sham against President Donald
J. Trump, and right before the U.S. Senate tried the case. A large portion of the President’s legal
defense case revolved around strong evidence that former Vice President Biden’s son, Hunter, was
peddling his influence to his father to land lucrative jobs overseas that he might not have otherwise
been qualified for.
If the FBI was, in fact, in possession of this evidence and failed to alert the White House to its
existence that would have given even more weight to the President’s legal defense, this was a gross
error in judgement and a severe violation of trust. The American people deserve the swift answers
to these questions:
1. Was the FBI in possession of the laptop and hard drive that was documented in the New York
Post article?
2. Did the FBI take any steps to authenticate the laptop, hard drive, and data that was uncovered?
3. Did anyone at the FBI brief officials at the Department of Justice or at the White House about
this laptop or hard drive at any point since December 2019?
4. Why did the New York Post have the information about this laptop and hard drive before the
American people?
We request answers to these questions by Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 5 PM EST.

Ratcliffe says Hunter Biden laptop, emails 'not
part of some Russian disinformation
campaign'
'There is no intelligence that supports that,' Director of National Intelligence
Ratcliffe says
By Brooke Singman | Fox News
October 19, 2020

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe provides insight into the New York Post bombshell report on
Hunter Biden.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday said that Hunter Biden’s
laptop “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” amid claims
from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff suggesting otherwise.
Ratcliffe, during an exclusive interview on FOX Business’ “Mornings with Maria,”
was asked about the allegations from Schiff, D-Calif., who over the weekend said
that the Hunter Biden emails suggesting Democratic presidential nominee Joe
Biden had knowledge of, and was allegedly involved in, his son’s foreign business
dealings.
“It’s funny that some of the people who complain the most about intelligence being
politicized are the ones politicizing the intelligence,” Ratcliffe said. “Unfortunately,
it is Adam Schiff who said the intelligence community believes the Hunter Biden
laptop and emails on it are part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”

He added: “Let me be clear: the intelligence community doesn’t believe that

because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no
intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress.”

Ratcliffe went on to say that it is “simply not true.”

Food Program USA's 2016 McGovern-Dole Leadership Award Ceremony at the Organization of
American States on April 12, 2016, in Washington, D.C. (Kris Connor/WireImage)
“Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign,”
Ratcliffe said, adding again that “this is not part of some Russian disinformation
campaign.”

Ratcliffe’s comments come after Schiff over the weekend described the emails as
being part of a smear coming “from the Kremlin,” amid claims the revelations are
part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

“We know that this whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin,” Schiff said
on CNN. “That’s been clear for well over a year now that they’ve been pushing this
false narrative about this vice president and his son.”

A senior intelligence official backed up Ratcliffe's assessment.

"Ratcliffe is 100% correct," the senior intelligence official told Fox News. "There is
no intelligence at this time to support Chairman Schiff's statement that recent
stories on Biden's foreign business dealings are part of a smart campaign that
'comes from the Kremlin.' Numerous foreign adversaries are seeking to influence
American politics, policies, and media narratives. They don't need any help from
politicians who spread false information under the guise of intelligence."

Ratcliffe went on to say that the laptop is “in the jurisdiction of the FBI.”

“The FBI has had possession of this,” he said. “Without commenting on any
investigation that they may or may not have, their investigation is not centered
around Russian disinformation and the intelligence community is not playing any
role with respect to that.”

He added: “The intelligence community has not been involved in Hunter Biden’s
laptop.”

Video
A senior Trump administration official, however, told Fox News that the FBI was
not investigating the emails as Russian disinformation.

The FBI declined to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation, as is

standard practice.

Meanwhile, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is

investigating Hunter Biden’s emails which reveal that he introduced his father, the
former vice president, to a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma
Holdings in 2015.

Ratcliffe went on to say that his role as director of National Intelligence, which he
assumed earlier this year, is “to not allow people to leverage the intelligence
community for a political narrative that’s not true.”

“In this case, Adam Schiff saying this is part of a disinformation campaign and that
the intelligence community has assessed and believes that — that is simply not
true,” he said. “Whether its Republicans or Democrats, if they try to leverage the
intelligence community for political gain, I won’t allow it.”

Meanwhile, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is

investigating Hunter Biden's emails.
The emails in question were first obtained by the New York Post and, in part,
revealed that Hunter Biden introduced the then-vice president to a top executive
at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings less than a year before he
pressured government officials in Ukraine to fire prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who
was investigating the company.

"We regularly speak with individuals who email the committee’s whistleblower
account to determine whether we can validate their claims," Johnson told Fox
News. "Although we consider those communications to be confidential, because
the individual in this instance spoke with the media about his contact with the
committee, we can confirm receipt of his email complaint, have been in contact
with the whistleblower, and are in the process of validating the information he
provided.”

The Post report revealed that Biden, at Hunter’s request, met with Vadym
Pozharskyi in April 2015 in Washington, D.C.

The meeting was mentioned in an email of appreciation, according to the Post, that
Pozharskyi sent to Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015 — a year after Hunter took on
his lucrative position on the board of Burisma.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet
your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and
pleasure,” the email read.

But Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates last week hit back against the New
York Post story, saying: “Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and
even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as 'not
legitimate' and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion:
that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no
wrongdoing. Trump administration officials have attested to these facts under
oath.”
“The New York Post never asked the Biden campaign about the critical elements
of this story. They certainly never raised that Rudy Giuliani—whose discredited
conspiracy theories and alliance with figures connected to Russian intelligence
have been widely reported—claimed to have such materials,” Bates continued.
“Moreover, we have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no
meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place.”

The Biden campaign also told Fox News Sunday that the former vice president
“never had a meeting” with Pozharskyi.

Biden, prior to the emails surfacing, repeatedly has claimed he’s “never spoken to
my son about his overseas business dealings.”

Hunter Biden’s business dealings, and role on the board of Burisma, emerged
during the Trump impeachment inquiry in 2019.

Biden once famously boasted on camera that when he was vice president and
spearheading the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy, he successfully
pressured Ukraine to fire Shokin, who was the top prosecutor at the time. He had
been investigating the founder of Burisma.

“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired,
you’re not getting the money,” Biden infamously said to the Council on Foreign
Relations in 2018.

“Well, son of a b---,” he continued. “He got fired.”

Biden and Biden allies have maintained, though, that his intervention prompting
the firing of Shokin had nothing to do with his son, but rather was tied to
corruption concerns.

Meanwhile, the Post reported Wednesday the emails were part of a trove of data
recovered from a laptop which was dropped off at a repair shop in Delaware in
April 2019.
The Post reported that other material turned up on the laptop, including a video,
which they described as showing Hunter smoking crack while engaged in a sexual
act with an unidentified woman, as well as other sexually explicit images.

The FBI reportedly seized the computer and hard drive in December 2019. The
shop owner, though, said he made a copy of the hard drive and later gave it to
former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello.

The Post reported that the FBI referred questions about the hard drive and laptop
to the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office, where a spokesperson told the outlet that
the office “can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation.”

A lawyer for Hunter Biden did not comment on specifics, but instead told the Post
that Giuliani “has been pushing widely discredited conspiracy theories about the
Biden family, openly relying on actors tied to Russian intelligence.”Giuliani did not
respond to Fox News’ requests for comment.

Another email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a
discussion of “renumeration packages” for six people in a business deal with a
Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as “Chair/ Vice
Chair depending on an agreement with CEFC,” in an apparent reference to now-
bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co.

The email includes a note that “Hunter has some office expectations he will
elaborate.” A proposed equity split references “20” for “H” and “10 held by H for
the big guy?” with no further details.

Fox News spoke to one of the people who was copied on the email, who confirmed
its authenticity.

Sources also told Fox News that “the big guy” was a reference to the former vice
president. The New York Post initially published the emails, and others, that Fox
News has also obtained.
While Biden has not commented on that email, or his alleged involvement in any
deals with the Chinese Energy firm, his campaign said it released the former vice
president’s tax documents and returns, which do not reflect any involvement with
Chinese investments.
Fox News also obtained an email last week that revealed an adviser of Burisma
Holdings, Vadym Pozharskyi, wrote an email to Hunter Biden on May 12, 2014,
requesting “advice” on how he could use his “influence to convey a message” to
“stop” what the company considers to be “politically motivated actions.”

“We urgently need your advice on how you could use your influence to convey a
message / signal, etc .to stop what we consider to be politically motivated
actions,” Pozharskyi wrote.

The email, part of a longer email chain obtained by Fox News, appeared to be
referencing the firm’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, being under investigation.
