Sheet (5)
1.Calculate the frequency for each of the following values of period:
(a) 1 s (b) 0.2 s (c) 50 ms

2. How long does it take a 10 kHz sine wave to

complete 100 cycles?

3. For the sine wave in Figure 1, determine the

peak, peak-to-peak, rms, and average values.

4. Sine wave (A) has a positive-going zero crossing

at 300. Sine wave (B) has a positive-going zero
crossing at 450. Determine the phase angle between
the two signals. Which signal leads?

5. A certain sine wave has a positive-going zero crossing at 00 and an rms value of
20 V. Calculate its instantaneous value at each of the following angles:
(a) 150 (b)330 (c)500

6. Draw the sine waves represented by the phasor diagram in Figure 2. The phasor
lengths represent peak values.

7. A sinusoidal voltage is applied to the resistive circuit in Figure 3. Determine the

following:

(a) Irms(b) Iavg(c) Ip(d) Ipp

8. A sine wave with an rms value of 10.6 V is riding on a dc level of 24 V. What are
the maximum and minimum values of the resulting waveform?

9. Determine the voltage across the load resistor and the current through the load
resistor in the bridge circuit in Figure 4. Notice that the resistors are labeled for
convenient conversion using Equations 1, 2, and 3. RC is the load resistor.
