Road  work  ahead  signs are a type of

construction traffic sign.  Road  construction
signs are intended to let drivers know that
there is  road  work  going on, and that they
should drive with caution to prevent anyone
from getting hurt.

No turn around

sign is common in towns where there is two

way traffic and the median isn’t wide enough
for a vehicle to slow on the left lane (or their
lane, in a two lane situation) and  turn around
into the opposite lane going back the way
they came.
2. Questions

2.1. How are symbols usually being presented?

A symbol is anything that reflects or stands for something else. It is similar to

an icon in the sense that they can convey too much information which confuses the
intended meaning. Pictures are, by their nature, open to interpretation, and although a
symbol might look like a picture at first glance – there is a big difference. The
symbol has a clear, basic, and defined meaning, whereas the image below may have
multiple interpretations.

Symbols are built in broad sets with a clear graphic framework covering a
wide variety of terminology. This means that they can be used as conjunction to
convey an infinite range of meaning. These can convey basic information in the same
way that icons do, but by combining them, much more complex information can be
conveyed.

2.2. What is the importance of using symbols to convey a message or information?

Symbols bridge the difference between what we perceive as reality in the

physical world and what we believe this experience is or could be. These are
connected to the imaginary realm of thought and creativity with the perception of
sensuality. In other words, unlike other species, human beings have adapted to the
physical to the physical atmosphere by constructing a dimension beyond physical
reality – a theoretical universe that goes beyond the outward existence of the natural
world.

Depending on the context, cultural meanings, and personal experience,

symbols may carry different meanings. You may not be able to articulate fully what a
certain symbol means, but you will always find that the symbol will speak to your
emotions and to your imagination. You may also find that you will remember and
think about the symbol long after you have forgotten other parts.

2.3. How these symbols are presented in terms of fonts, images, colors, design and
others?

Every color, fonts, images, design and etc used on a sign has a meaning
attached to it and tells us what to expected ahead. For example, when we see red
colors – it refers to a situation where you must stop or yield. Yellow signs are general
warning signs to indicate potential hazards or changing conditions ahead. Although
we may experience the same event or view the same object, our responses will never
be the same.  Humans are sentient creatures that rely not only on senses to make logic
of the world, but also on subjective factors such as ego, propositions, arguments,
personal truths and feelings, cultural tastes, beliefs, and memories. When you get to
know the key characteristics of each type of symbol, you’ll be able to easily identify
whether a sign is asking you to stop doing something, start doing something, take
precautions, or advising you of emergency equipment or facilities.
