Q2 Read this passage about an alien abduction and answer the questions that
follow:
It was a sultry summer night and as usual there was no electricity .Feeling
stifled in my tiny room, I climbed the stairs to the terrace. Mom was clearing
the dinner dishes and Dad was trying to call up the Electricity Department to
find out when we could expect some relief from the heat.
Tuning out other sound I looked up to see thousands and thousands of stars
twinkling in the pitch dark sky .Admiring the appealing sight ,I started strolling
around . “What is that thing?”I questioned myself as I noticed a huge disc –
shaped object floating in the air, just a couple of buildings away from me.
Electric sparks were flying out of it, sending lightning bolts towards the ground
at irregular intervals .A horrendous chill covered my whole body .
As in my dream ,that thing was heading towards me .Soon , I misunderstood
my thoughts were reality, and I found myself in an awkwardly strange place .I
couldn’t remember how I got there. Soon enough I found that I was not alone.
There were a handful of people there. Frightened, they were gathered in a
corner, not knowing what to do, just like me .
Outside, there was a passageway .Determined to do something, I started
marching towards the so – called exit. I was about to step through the door
when someone caught me by my shoulder.”STOP”! This is not what it looks
like,” said a little girl in a shaky voice.
“There was some kind of invisible barrier there and it hurts”. She showed me
her left arm which looked sunburned. Suddenly , a strange creature entered
through the door .He was an alien ,for sure .His face was more horrifying than
all my nightmares ! something clicked in my mind …….. how could he enter
through the door without getting hurt?
Page 2
Once again ,all the possibilities in the world gathered in my head .I knew if
there was a chance to survive ,this was it .if I let it slip ,I’ll regret it my whole
life. Now or never ……..,I kept chanting to myself and sprinted towards it .I was
aiming for the back of its neck, furiously praying that my plan worked .
