Introduction

For us, as teachers in training it is really important to acquire new knowledgment i different
places and cultures since text readings, also reported activities that learners transfer to the
second language from the first language in oral and write production in the additional
language.

This work results in thinking about the importance of the unit 1 on the level IV English a
foreign language effect, based on the knowlegments of some authors: English Grammar

In the early to mid-1960s, a fairly recent age for

initial human occupation of Haida Gwaii also
seemed to be supported (or at least not denied) by
all existing archaeological information from those
islands. That consisted, however, of only four to
five individual publications, none particularly
informative; he thought that the village must have
been abandoned at least “several centuries ago”

Politically, the Haida are again a force to be

reckoned with, though best warriors today pack an
arsenal of main lawyers. Last year, the Haida filed
writ in the B.C. Supreme Court, claiming that the
province and Canada "unlawfully occupied and
exploited the resources of Haida Gwaii" and
"interfered with the culture and livelihood of the
Haida Nation." They claim compensation, and
Aboriginal title to the islands and the most
important seabed. The case, bolstered by solid
evidence of Haida occupation for millennia,
unsettles the more of the 3,500 non-Haida on the
islands.
Haida Gwaii includes three largest, formally
protected areas. Naikoon Park (71 000
ha) was created in 1973 to preserve 100 km of
beaches and dunes, which constitutes
about 15% of Haida Gwaii and encompasses over
200 islands, was established in 1988 to protect
marine, intertidal, and terrestrial more important
ecosystems as well as a diverse and as rich as
cultural history. The V.J. Krajina Ecological
Reserve (7800 ha) on the west coast of Graham
Island contains the most productive temperate
rainforest as well as rare species of plants and
bryophytes

Most commonly these arguments have focussed on

the seasonal abundance nicier salmon, which can
be harvested in largest numbers and processed for
storage and surplus Through the ethnographic-
period cultures of the Northwest Coast can thus be
characterised as complex as, stratified, hunting-
fishing-gathering societies, the majority of which
relied heavily on salmon, the long-term
development of these characteristics is relatively
poorliest understood and is likely variable across
the culture area.Furthermore, the primariest
ethnographic sources for the region date from the
very late 19th and early 20th centuries

Haida powerest reside throughout the islands but
are concentrated in two main centres, Gaw Old
Massett at the more northeast end of Graham
Island and HelGa gilda Skidegate at the southeast
end. Besides these two communities, there are
many 2000 more Haida scattered throughout the
world. Vancouver, 770 km south of Haida Gwaii,
has a large population as does Kxeen Prince Rupert
which is 100 km east across Hecate Strait

landscapes, abundant wildlife, and some of the
world’s richest heritage treasures with more than
500 archeological sites. Haida Gwaii’s climate
produces lush vegetation and abundant wildlife.
