A. Contrasting Naturopathy with Allopathic Medicine
Based on my readings, I have realized major difference when it comes to the aspect of their practice.
Prevention vs. Cure…
In Allopathic Medicine whereas system of medicine is on treating disease rather than promoting
health, cure is the main focus. While in Naturopathy wherein recognize the holistic development of the
patient, thus, prevention is always its focus.
On treating diseases...
In Allopathic Medicine or conventional medicine, doctor will treat once you acquire an illness or
a disease. In Naturopathy, you, being the patient, are treated not only to kill the disease but also to have
a better perspective in your own body and health.
B. The Role of Antibiotics
I don’t want to be biased. Antibiotics are of big help when it comes to the treatment of different
illness. But, these practice should be lessen and be used in moderation. And so, people should be aware
on the pros and cons of taking antibiotics.
People nowadays must engage themselves in naturopathy wherein natural measures are used.
It is indeed safe and beneficial.
C. Treatment with Naturopathic Medicine
It is a new way of treatment! It is more effective, in my opinion, in a way that it promotes the
healing process rather than suppressing symptoms. The downfall of this new kind of treatment are as
follows:
1. People are not yet ready to fully accept the healing process of naturopathic medicine
2. People engaged themselves to conventional medicine because they believe that it is easier and
faster.
3. Patients prioritize instant healing brought by allopathic medicine rather than long time
prevention given by Naturopathic Medicine.
D. Patient Satisfaction with Naturopathic Medicine
While studies shows that patients who utilize this kind of treatment are more satisfied with the
results of their treatments than are patients who receive conventional treatments such as drugs and
surgeries, we have to agree that patients still choose to undergo conventional treatment up to this
day. Our challenge here is to make them aware on the long-time effect of naturopathic medicine.
