Art Appreciation Activities

Activity 1.

You will be given preliminary clarifications on assumptions about art. In the first column, you will list
down striking encounters with arts. On the second column, you will explain each encounter.

My encounters with Arts Why?

 Drawing Contest  It was amazing, it was thought that the
capacity of artworks to arouse emotions
in audiences is a perfectly natural and
unproblematic fact. It just seems obvious
that we can feel sadness or pity for
fictional characters, fear at the view of
threatening monsters on the movie
screen, and joy upon listening to upbeat,
happy songs. This may be why so many
of us are consumers of art in the first
place. Good art, many of us tend to think,
should not leave us cold. That emotion is
a central part of our dealings with
artworks seems undeniable. Yet, natural
ideas about emotion, at least taken
collectively, make it hard to see why such
an assumption should be true. Once we
know a bit more about emotion, it isn’t
clear how we could feel genuine emotion
towards artworks in the first place.
Furthermore, if it were possible to find a
plausible theory of emotion that would
vindicate the claim that we experience
genuine emotion towards artworks,
questions arise as to why most of us are
motivated to engage in artworks,
especially when these tend to produce
negative emotions. How can the emotion
we feel towards artworks be rationally
justified? Overall, a proper understanding
of our emotional responses to art should
shed light on its value. It was indeed an
amazing experienced.
 It was fascinating and fun, I felt nervousness,
 Spoken poetry speaking in front of the people with gestures
Contest and emotions wasn’t that easy. I was the
champion in the contest that time when I was
in my elementary days. I loved how my
teachers was there for me, they supported me,
and told me that they had trust on me. It made
me calm and I did my best. I learned that
spoken word is writing that is meant to be read
out loud. Some examples of spoken word you
might be familiar with are stories, poems,
monologues, slam poetry, rap and even stand
up comedy. When writing a spoken word piece
use words and phrases that project onto the
minds of the listeners like vivid images,
sounds, actions and other sensations. If your
poem is rich with imagery, your listeners will
see, smell, feel and maybe even taste what
you’re telling them.
 It was in my junior and senior high school
years when I encountered this, It was fun
 Musical play and enjoyable. We played in front of large
crowd, they were shouting with their bets
and that was tense. Our theme was
Aladdin, I loved the songs, we sung with
harmony and with feelings, I can say that
was amazing and I felt performance
anxiety that time. We made props with
creativity from scrapped materials, we
danced, we laughed, and most
importantly we gathered and help each
other though we only won 3rd place that
time but at least we enjoyed the
performance and did our very best in
front of the crowd.
  It is typically felt as a pleasant tingling
feeling along the skin, often staring on
 Soup carving the scalp and moving down along the
spine. It is a deeply soothing sensation
and can be triggered by a number of
sights and sounds. It was a fascinating
experience for me while I’m carving.
Though my works were not that kind
appealing to the eyes but at least I tried
and did my best though I’m not a
professional carving artist but I believe
maybe one day who knows. Soup carving
tested my patience and dedication in
carving the soup, for me it’s hard but it
was fun.
 We had our contemporary art compilation
of our digital works and we put them in a
 Scrapbook Making scrapbook. To be honest I love making
scrapbooks personally. My classmates
loved my scrapbook because it was neat
and very creative. Making a scrapbook
was very tiring yet you feel relieved when
you see that the result was beautiful and
amazing. I made it with love and passion.
