PEER GRADED ASSIGNMENT

QUESTION 1
E-type should have done what they expected the client to want. They should have presented
the new version. They needed to have won the competition so that they could make some
money and grow. They should have gone by the document of team Denmark. E-type eventually
brought up a design outside the documentation based on their personal feelings and
perception. They should have been able to master their strength and weaknesses and the
challenges of making use of their opportunities and threat. They should have understood that
project differentiation is key to this project. They missed out on the way the moment they
started thinking of designing based on their own interest and feelings. They could have easily
outgone their competitors only if they had designed something based on the design document
and specifications. They should have prefer edgy and work so hard on it to build a reputation on
it.

QUESTION 2
They should really begin to think of refusing to work on certain kinds of job. That is to say since
they are more interested on what suit them. They should prefer clients that would leave them
with their choice of design. However, this can make them become non-competitive, leaving
them always with little earnings, eventually leading to slow growth.

QUESTION 3
E-type should be able to come up with the best persuading strategy to support their
recommended course of actions

First is to be able to persuade colleagues that what was given to them in the documentation
design is the best they would have followed.
Second is to convince colleagues based on the quality of design, differentiation strategy, time
efficiency and cost of design.

They should have gone by the document of team Denmark. E-type eventually brought up a
design outside the documentation based on their personal feelings and perception. They should
have been able to master their strength and weaknesses and the challenges of making use of
their opportunities and threat. They should have understood that project differentiation is key
to this project.

A key preoccupation of their strategy was to have identified sources of heterogeneous

performance among their competitors. Reason is, the main theories of strategy
include contingency theory, Porter's positioning theory, resource-based view and its derivatives
and environmental theories and offer varying views explaining the potential
reasons for deriving superior positions.

Empirical studies in the field of strategic management have mainly focussed on two main
streams of research:

(i) The relationship between how strategy is formulated by a

person/ firm.

(ii) (ii) The relationship between the content of strategy and firm performance..

With the type of design documentation a body of research regards the ability to formulate and
implement a formulated strategy. They should note that the rate of quality design stated in the
design document necessitates that increased attention be paid to strategic planning and
strategy formulation.

E-type needed to cope with competitive challenges related to innovation, dynamic responses,
knowledge sharing, etc. by means of effective and dynamic strategy formulation to ensures
high quality in process and outcome.
Their aim should have been developing a strategy based on what team Denmark wants. Three
key items they should have considered based on Porter’s strategy:

Overall Cost Leadership: Lowest and quality overall designs and production to meet the needs
of team Denmark.

Differentiation: Marked by superior performance in an area of customer satisfaction (Team

Denmark) versus pricing value. This can be in service, style, quality, technology or the like.
Quality and production skill go hand in hand.

Focus: In this strategy e-type should have segmented its strategy design and seek to be the
leader in either cost of differentiation.

However, once strategies are set, programs have to be created to support the eventual
implementation of the strategy. Successful implementation of strategic planning is a function of
clarity of purpose.
