Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should check the eligibility criteria before applying for the NEET exam. The eligibility
criteria for appearing NEET exam is given below

Qualification-
  The Admission Seeker should have qualified the 12th or equivalent exam.
  Subjects must be Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology with English as a
compulsory subject.
 10+2 appearing students are also eligible to apply.
  In the qualifying exam (PCB group), students should have obtained at least 50% marks
for general, 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC/ST & OBC.

Application Process

How to Apply?

There is given below simple and detailed application form filling procedure
1. Admission Seeker can avail the NEET UG 2020 Application Form via online mode only.
2. Visit the official website of NEET. Official Registration Link
3. Apply for Online Registration using your or parents unique Email Id and Mobile No.
4. Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application No.
5. Upload scanned images of Candidate’s latest Passport size Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200
kb), Post Card size photograph (4”X6”) (Size: 50 kb – 300 kb) and Candidate’s Signature
(file size: 4kb – 30kb), Left hand thumb impression (file size: 10 kb-50 kb) in JPG/JPEG
format. (In case of any eventuality of left thumb being unavailable, right-hand thumb
impression may be used.), Class X Passing Certificate (file size: 100 kb to 400 kb) in
JPG/JPEG format.
6. For photography, the focus needs to be on face (80% face coverage, ears clearly visible,
on white background).
7. Pay the fee using SBI/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI/Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit
Card/Credit Card/Net-banking/UPI and keep proof of fee paid safely for future reference.
In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is
cancelled, and the amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account. However, the
candidate has to make another transaction of fee, in case the Confirmation Page is not
generated.
❖ Download, save and print copies of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of
fee and keep copies safely for future reference.
❖ All the 4 Steps can be done together in one go or at different times.

Application Fee

The NEET application fee which has to be paid at the time of submission of the application form
of NEET 2020 is different for different categories. Aspirants may check in the table given below the
requisite application fee to be paid at the time of NEET 2020 application form submission.

Exam Pattern

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) will be an offline mode (pen and paper-
based mode) test held in India. The questions will be in mix set multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
and non- MCQ’s format.

Basic Guidelines

 No. of Question: Total of 180 questions will be asked in the exam.


 Exam Mode: Exam will be conducted through offline mode (pen and paper-based mode).
 Marking Scheme: Four marks will be given for each correct answer (+4 Marks).
 Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer (-1 Mark).
  Duration: The exam duration will be 3 hours.
 Subjects: Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Zoology &
Botany) subjects.

Type of Question: There will be objective type questions (four options with one correct

Admit Card

Admission Seeker who has registered successfully will be able to download the admit card of NEET
2020 in online mode from 27 March 2020.  The name of the students, exam centre address, timings
for the exam and other details will be present on the admit card of NEET 2020. It is important for all
student to bring the admit card to the examination centre along with a passport size photograph.
Failure to present the admit card at the exam centre of NEET 2020 will make the candidates
ineligible to attempt the exam.

Dress code
Due to a large number of the applicant, the NTA follows strict policies to maintain the discipline and
fairness of NEET Exam. Among the important policies is the dress code for NEET 2020. NTA has
prescribed a dress code for the examination day along with a list of items that are prohibited in the
examination hall. Below are a few important pointers about the dress code for NEET 2020:

NEET 2020 Dress code for males:

 Try to wear simple pants/shirts


 Full-sleeves shirts/T-shirts are not permitted
 Clothes should not have pockets, zips, big buttons, layers etc
 Avoid layering your clothing
 Kurtas and pyjamas should be avoided
 Footwear should be simple. Boots, shoes or any concealing/covered footwear are not
permitted
 You can opt for light slippers/sandals
NEET 2020 Dress code for females:

 Wear half-sleeved Kurtis/shirts


 Long and fancy sleeves of any design are not allowed
 Keep it simple. Avoid embroidery, frills, layering with different pieces
 Avoid all jewellery both metallic and non-metallic
 Fancy footwear is not permitted in the exam hall. Avoid boots, heels, stilettos, shoes
 Opt for slippers or open sandals

Exam day guidelines


To help the candidates appearing for the examination have a hassle-free day and keep them stress-

 A stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers,
Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Pen, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives,
Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc.
 Communication devices like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager,
Health Band, etc.
 Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap Watch/Wrist Watch, Bracelet,
Camera, etc.
 Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle, tea, coffee, cold drinks, etc.
 Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices
like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
 Candidates suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry eatables (with prior intimation)
like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) and transparent water bottle. However,
they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy/sandwich, etc.

Answer Key

The important answer key of NEET 2020 will be released within a week of examination. NEET
Answer Key will be published via online mode through the website. The aspirant may have an
opportunity for an online challenge against the answer key. All of the right answers to the questions
asked in the offline entrance examination of NEET 2020 will be present in the answer key. Students
have to pay Rs. 1000/- per answer challenged. The payment will be refunded in case of the challenge
is accepted by the Board.

Result
According to Official instructions, CBSE will declare the result of NEET 2020 tentatively by June
2020. The result will release via online mode through the website. Students can Cheak their results
by entering their roll number and other required details. The scores secured by the candidates in the
NEET 2020 exam will be available in the result. The result of NEET 2020 has to be downloaded by
the candidates since it will be required during the NEET admission process.

Cutoff

For qualify the NEET 2020 entrance examination, Candidate needs minimum marks. It will be based
on a number of students appeared in the exam, difficulty level and availability of seats. It will be
released in the month of June 2020. The minimum qualifying marks should be 50% for general, 45%
for General-PH and 40% marks for reserved categories. During the NEET counselling process,
counselling authorities of NEET 2020 will release their own merit lists containing names or ranks of
candidates called for various rounds of counselling. NEET 2020 cutoff will, however, be the
minimum entry requirement for preparation of various merit lists.

college?
A. To get admission in government medical college, one must secure at least 600 marks in NEET

A. NEET 2020 will be a 3-hour duration long paper and the exam will be held from 02:00 p.m. to

see changes in the academic session 2021-22.

Q. What is the maximum number of attempts permitted for NEET?


A. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted for NEET. According to NTA, a
candidate can appear for NTA as many times as he/she needs to qualify the examination.

Q. I took a break of two years after class XII. Can I apply for NEET 2020 Exam?
A. Yes, you can apply for NEET 2020 provided you have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% in
Physics, Chemistry and Biology. To apply for NEET 2020, you must also have cleared these subjects
individually.

Q. If I have chosen Tamil as the medium of the question paper, can I choose Mumbai as the test
city?
A. According to the guidelines set by NTA, Tamil language question paper will only be available in
the test cities in Tamil Nadu. Hence, if you want to choose Tamil as the medium of the question
paper, you will have to opt for a test city in Tamil Nadu state only.

Q. What is the price of a NEET application form?


A. The application fee for NEET 2020 is Rs 1400 for all the candidates who belong to the General or
OBC category. However, for candidates who belong to the SC/ST/ PWD category, the application
fee is Rs 750.

Q. Is the NEET 2020 exam be difficult?


A. Yes, experts suggest that the difficulty level of NEET 2020 will be raised owing to the scrapping
of both AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS. NEET is now the only entrance examination for
