1. Cite programs or projects which are proofs of the partnership of your school (or
previous school) and the community. Mention the name of the projects, the schools
and their community partners.
One of the programs that our institution implemented was the Extension Service Program
which is the “Alay Hakbang Tungo sa Karunungan” a tutorial session in literacy and
numeracy skills given by the school with the help of chosen students of our institution.
The NSTP program which is part of the curriculum also gives community service.
2. Can schools take the place of families in the rearing of children? Why or why not?
Yes, schools provide a formal education to an individual for him to improve the quality
of his life. Although family is the one who provides the basic education for children,
schools are the one who molds and develop the attitude, skills, human relations and
intellect of a person which is important to be a good citizen.
During my first course in college while I am taking the subject Civic Welfare Training
Service (CWTS) our group provides community service in our chosen barangay. We
conducted tree planting activities as well as the clean and green project of the barangay.
As a student what I have done to school and community was just to follow their policies,
rules and regulations and being involve in programs or activities. What else can I do as a
student is to study harder to provide myself a better living and a productive citizen of our
country.
