Personal Philosophy

The great and famous Albert Einstein said “I am thankful for all of those who said NO to

me. It’s because of them I’m doing it myself.” I have chosen this quote because from little, I’ve

learnt to accept a No. Oftentimes as humans we tend to expect a lot from those around us. We

want things to be done our own way. Conflicts arrive when we hear a No, but not in my case.

Whenever I receive a No from someone, I try to do things on my own and learn from the

experience. I do not feel offended with I receive one; instead I try to see it as an opportunity to

do things on my own. I never underestimate myself or even let others underestimate me. A No

helps me to perceive situations as challenges. When things are difficult, I try not to push them

away. I try not to let others do it from me or to avoid receiving a No. If I receive it, then I take it

as a challenge and this inspires me to become more efficient and confident in my work.

Society is considered to be a place where human beings live together in an orderly

fashion. Society should be a place where there is mutual respect, where each other’s norms,

values, and believes are accepted and most importantly there is equality. In a society, sex, age,

religion, race and other petty differences should not matter. People within societies should

accept, support, care and love each other. Society should learn that everyone’s moral standards

are different. What you may think is morally right or good, to others it may be morally wrong or

bad. Societies should not be prejudice. We all come from different cultures with different

believes. Instead of judging someone, we should learn from them. We should live in a positive

society where differences do not make someone any less from others.

Relationships are formed when you feel a connection towards someone. A relationship

should be formed when love exists, when you enjoy each and every moment spent with that

person. In a relationship, you should feel comfortable and secure. You should treat each other

with respect. There should be no violence but instead unconditional love. In relationships, you

should support one another; you should take interest in each other’s lives. Honesty and trust are

important aspects of a relationship. You should be able to express affection, appreciation and

admiration for each other. Moreover, you should enjoy the way your partner has changed and

grow since the day you met him/her. Overall, a relationship should be healthy in all aspects.

Family is one of the greatest gifts from God. Family is not only about a last name or

blood relation. Family is about support, communication, spending time together, appreciating

each other, spirituality and most importantly love. Your family should be present when you need

them the most. Family means having each other’s back no matter what. It also means choosing to

love each other even if days are not coming the way you wanted. It means, not giving up on each

other. A strong family should be able to deal with crisis. A real family will support and

encourage each other when difficult times arrive. Strong families are positive. They never allow

toxic people and their negativity to impact them. They remain positive and strong.

If I was to choose a lifestyle, I would choose a rich lifestyle. I want to be wealthy but at

the same time remain humble. I want to be able to travel around the world, be present at large

important football games with my family. I want to have a big house, cars, a synthetic field in

my yard and most importantly, a happy family. I want to have a lifestyle where I can be able to

help my church, provide tithes and be able to create a charitable organization. I want a lifestyle

where I can own different businesses to provide employment opportunities and to be able to not

only provide for myself but for those in need.

In the future, I want to become an Accountant. I aspire to become proficient in the

accounting field by excelling my studies and working extremely hard. I want to become

independent to help my mother and my grandmother. I aspire to become wealthy and help my

community by creating a charitable organization. I hope to get married one day with my current

girlfriend and form a happy family. Seeing my mother work at a banana farm motivates me to

not waste my education and work hard so that I do not end up working there, getting paid $3.30 a

hour. That motivates me to focus and envision being a professional person. My mother is not

only my motivation but she’s also the most influential persons in my life. She has set an example

of what is it to be a good and hard working person. Despite her not being able to study, she

remains humble, willing to run a mile to take her family forward and give us everything we need.

Today I am grateful because thanks to her, I am educated, I am hard working and I have become

an exceptional person with a big heart.
