B- Professional Information
1. Overall Aims of Course
The course aims at enabling the students to acquire and understand the basic
knowledge of pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics. This will enable the students
to design, monitor and modify dosage regimen.

2. Intended Learning Outcomes of Course(ILOs)


a-Knowledge and Understanding :
al- Describe the basic principles of pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics.
a2- Define various aspects concerning drug absorption, distribution and elimination
in the body.
a3- Illustrate the theoretical basis of each pharmacokinetic process.

b-Intellectual Skills
b1-Analyze patients data and identify problems in drug disposition.
b2-Plan a strategy for good pharmaceutical care based on the pharmacokinetics data.
b3-Calculate drug pharmacokinetic parameters including half-life, elimination rate
constant, etc.

c- Professional and practical Skills


c1-Identify and monitor patient data during each pharmacokinetic process.
c2-Recommended initial dosage regimen, adjust dosage and recommend monitoring
strategy.

d- General and Transferable Skills


d1- Correlate in vitroand in vivo data.
d2- Apply all the pharmacokinetic data in the form of equations and figures.
