IBS Outstanding Student Leader Award Application

Instruction
Dear everyone,

Students in classes of fall 2013, fall 2014 and fall 2015 can apply for the Outstanding
Student Leader Award now. The Outstanding Student Leader Award is set up to
recognize students who have taken leading roles and devote themselves unselfishly to
serving the university and the school community through involvement in various public
services.

Up to 2 students from each class level who, through their leadership and involvement,
have contributed to the campus culture in a positive way during 2015 fall semester and
2016 spring semester will be selected to receive the award which includes outstanding
student leader certificate and 2000RMB.

Applicants need to fill out the application form carefully. The applicant takes complete
responsibility on the authenticity of the documents and testimonials submitted. In the
event of non-authenticity of the submitted testimonials, the Assessment Committee has
the right to revoke 100% of the award and the student is fully liable in this case.

Applicant Requirement

1. To be eligible for the Outstanding Student Leader Award, students should meet the
following requirements in order to guarantee their candidacy:
 Current full-time degree-seeking student enrollment status at IBS.
 Abide by national laws and University and school’s regulations and avoid
bringing the University and school’s name and reputation into disrepute during
their study at IBS.
 Have worked as class representative (class monitor); president, vice
president, board member or active member in the IBS Union for one
consecutive year (from 2015 fall semester to 2016 spring semester). The
supportive document proving that you assumed the due position is necessary.
 Obtain average grades of 70 or above for the compulsory core courses for
the assessed academic year (from 2015 fall semester to 2016 spring semester).
 Must have passed all courses and never took make-up exams and retook
courses in their study at IBS.

Application Process

1. Procedures.
 Step 1: Download an “IBS Outstanding Student Leader Award Application”
from the IBS website, follow the instructions and submit an application form, a
personal statement and a resume in hard copies to the IBS International Student
Affairs Office 981 IB.
 Step 2: The Outstanding Student Leader Award Assessment Committee will
select the eligible candidates who will then receive an interview.
 Step 3: During the interview, the candidates are required to make a presentation
on his or her participation in the school activities or administrative class duties.
 Step 4: The Outstanding Student Leader Award Assessment Committee will
give marks to applicants based on their interview performance.
 Step 5: Applicants who get a score above 85/100 from the interview will enter
peer evaluation process. Peer evaluation here refers to voting by candidates’
classmates. If he or she receives votes from above 50% of his or her classmates, he
or she will be the recipients of this award.
 Step 6: The Award recipients will be announced and the award be granted.

2. Submitting.
Applicants should submit their application form, a personal statement and
a resume as well as necessary supportive documents in hard copies to the
IBS International Student Affairs Office (981 IB) by 5:00 P.M. this
Friday (Nov.25th 2016).

The closing date is firm - no late applications will be considered.
