book.
The setting took place in Lily’s house and little town. Lily’s parents were expecting another baby,
Julius. Lily s the older sister and loved him before he was born. When he was born, she didn’t like him
because he was being admired by the parents and had to share rooms with Lily. After neglecting her
baby brother, she started to warn others about babies and how they are not great. During Julius’
party, their cousin insulted Julius. Lily was offended by her comments and defended Julius and how he
is the baby of the world.
The theme of the story is family. It may be weird and complicated at first to show love, but they are
going to be there to defend you and be your best friend.

Explain how the book appeals to children, their interests, developmental levels, fun
illustrations etc. Give specific examples from the book:
Some children have siblings and will get mad with them, but that doesn’t mean that they will
stop loving each other. For example, Lily defended Julius from their cousin because she didn’t
like that her cousin said rude things about him. When parents have a new child, the older
children will get jealous, and this happens on the best of families. Lily tried to ignore him and
try to get the attention of her parents. Children can relate to what Lily and Julius felt with this
new addition to the family.

Explain your rating.

Although it was a good book of showing family and love, Lily was very negative towards Julius
and that can cause some confusion to readers. They’re going to think that it’s appropriate to
act that way. Sibling rivalry is common, but when reading about it, the teachers and adults
need to know how to read it without encouraging hatred towards their siblings.
