• We use the Present Continuous for fixed
arrangements:Mi koristimo Present Continuous

with
Joy. (I’ve already made an arrangement with Joy.)
Andrew is playing tennis tomorrow.
I'm not working next week.
Sophie is going to the dentist on Friday.
• We use be going to + infinitive to talk about
intentions .Koristimo be going to da pričamo o
namerama i planovima
or plans:
Are you going to invite your aunt to the party?
I'm going to buy some books tomorrow.
Something is going to happen=we can see now  that it
is sure to happen : nešto će se sigurno desiti,mi vidimo
sada da će se sigurno desiti.Na osnovu prethodne
rečenice izvodimo zaključak
Look at the sky! It's going to rain. (black clouds now-
rain)Pogledaj u nebo.Padaće kiša.To zaključujemo na
osnovu neba, oblaka
Oh, dear. It's 9 o'clock and I'm not ready. I'm going to be
late. (9 o'clock now and not ready-late)
• We use will + infinitive for decisions made at the
moment of speaking. will -krnji infinitiv za odluke
koje su donešene u trenutku govora

We often use I think with will:

I think I’ll ask Luke for help.
Oh, I've left the door open. I'll go and shut it.
0 'What would you like to drink?' I'll  have an orange
juice, please.'
0 'Did you phone Lucy?' 'Oh no, I forgot. I'll phone her
now.'
We can use I will (I'll ) when you offer something or
decide to do something:
will + krnji infinitiv, oblik bez nastavka za ponude i
odluke u trenutku govora.

Tomorrow she’ll be in Mexico City.
Next week she’ll be in New York.
■ You can call me tonight. I’ll be at home
We often say I think . . . will  . . . :
Mi često kažemo I think I will

■ I don’t think it will rain this afternoon.
■ Do you think the test will be difficult
Shall I / Shall we . . . ? = Do you think this is a good
thing to do? Do you think this is a
good idea?
Shall + I/We se koristi za predloge ,pitamo govornika

■ It’s very warm in this room. Shall I open the window?
■ “Shall I call you tonight?” “OK.”
■ It’s a nice day. Shall we go for a walk?
■ What shall we have for dinner
Shall is used mostly in the questions shall I ... ? / shall
we ... ?
We use shall I ... ? / shall we .. . ? to ask somebody's
opinion (especially in offers or suggestions):
0 Shall I open the window? (=Do you want me to open
the window?)
0 I've got no money. What shall I do? (= What do you
suggest?)
0 'Shall we go?' 'Just a minute. I'm not ready yet.'

Compare shall I ... ? and will you ... ?:

it?)Hoću li ja da zatvorim vrata
0 Will you shut the door? (= I want you to shut

zatvoriš vrata)
shall + krnji infinitiv je za predloge, ideje i samo uz
I,we ,+ subjekat+ krnji infinitiv ,oblik bez nastavka

When we predict a future happening or situation, we

use will/won't.
Kada predviđamo budućnost ili situaciju mi
koristimo will ili won't
Kate is doing an exam next week. Chris and
Joe are talking about it.
Do you think  Kate will pass the exam?     Yes, she'll pass
easily. (   She'll pass does not mean 'she has decided to
pass'. Joe is saying what he knows or believes will
happen)
He is predicting the future.
When we predict a future happening or situation, we
use will/won't.
S They've been away a long time. When they return,
they'll find a lot of changes here.
'Where will you be this time next year?' 'I'll    be in
Japan.'
That plate is hot. If you touch it, you'll burn yourself.
Tom won't pass the exam. He hasn't studied hard enough
For predictions based on our own  personal opinion or
knowledge Za predviđawa koja su zasnovana na
našem ličnom mišljenju i znanju koristimo will + base
infinitive krnji infinitiv
The rain will stop in a minute. (I know it never  rains for
long here)
In the future, people will live on other planets. (This is my
opinion)
We often use will ('ll) with:
probably verovatno
(I'm) sure Ja sam siguran/na
(I) think Ja mislim
(I) don't think ja ne mislim
I wonder Ja se pitam
C I'll probably be home late tonight.
C Don't worry about the exam. I'm sure you'll pass.
C Do you think Sarah will like the present we bought her?
C I don't think the exam will be very difficult.
C I wonder what will happen.
After I hope, we generally use the present (will is also
possible):
0 I hope Kate passes the exam. (or I hope Kate will pass ..
.)
0 I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.
Generally, we use will to talk about the future, but
sometimes we use will to talk about now.
Uobičajeno, uopšteno mi koristimo will da pričamo o
budućnosti ,ali ponekad mi koristimo will da pričamo
o onome što se dešava sada .
For example:
C Don't phone Ann now. She'll be busy. (=she'll be busy
now)
We often use will to talk about events  that are certain to
happen :
There will be a full moon tomorrow. New Year's Day will
fall on a Tuesday next year.
We can make our predictions more or less certain by
using the adverbs probably, certainly and definitely.
Note the word order of the adverbs with a negative
verb.
Mi možemo učiniti naša predviđanja više ili manje
sigurnim koristeći priloge probably-verovatno
certainly-sigurno and definitely-definitivno,
sigurno.Obratite pažnju na redosled priloga uz glagol
u odričnom obliku
I'll definitely pass the test (I'm sure this will happen)
We definitely won't go to Portugal. (I'm  sure this will not
happen)
We're probably going to move to Spain next year. (I think
this will happen, but I'm not sure )
We can use will to make offers, promises, and
warnings :
Don't worry about a taxi. We'll take you to the hospital
(offer)
I'll work harder next year, I promise.  I will never do that
again. (promise)
I will not allow bad behaviour  in my house. (warning)
Don't lift that-you'll hurt yourself . (warning)
