least one Image Series Template created.
Before you acquire each image, select the Region, Laterality and

OR
If you place your images in the same position in the Image Series
Template each time you acquire them, you could load each Image
Holder Box (where the image will be placed) with the Region,
Laterality and View Position for the image that gets placed there.
Then, as each image is placed in its Image Holder Box, it would
be automatically assigned the Region, Laterality and View
Position that were setup for that Image Holder Box, which means
you don’t have to click on the Region, Laterality and View Position
settings before you acquire each image in the template. This
saves the x-ray tech time.
If you have more images than one Images Series Template will
hold, when the Template is full, TigerView will save that Template
and open a new, empty Template for you to keep feeding images
into. You only need to click on Create if you stop acquiring
images before a mount is full or if you stop at the point the mount
becomes full.
Note: No matter what image goes into an Image Holder Box, if the
Image Holder Box has the Region, Laterality and View Position setup,
the image that goes into that box will be assigned those settings, not
what you may have just selected on the Acquire window. If you don’t
assign each Image Holder Box the Region, Laterality and View
Position for the image that goes there, you will need to select those
settings before you acquire each image.
Note: if the Image Series Audio Prompt Voice is turned on, you
will hear the settings for the next image you need to acquire,

the fine details that you may want to see may also be removed.
Median Filter
Click on the Median Filter button to make the image less grainy. The
danger in using Median Filter is that the edges in the image may not be
as sharply drawn.
When there is not a check in Median Filter, the image will have a more
grainy look but the edges of the image will be more defined (sharper).
Brightness
Changing the Brightness can make up for an x-ray machine that shoots
images with too much lightness or darkness. Brightness raises or lowers
the lightness of every pixel in the image.
Changing the Contrast creates an image where the white areas are whiter
and the black areas blacker. This causes the edges of a shape within the
image to be more easily seen. Too much contrast can create a glare
while too little contrast can give the image a uniformly gray look.

Threshold tells TigerView what edges to apply Edge
Enhancement (Sharpening) to. A Threshold of 1 will apply
Edge Enhancement to every edge in the image starting
with the very smallest. A Threshold of 12 will apply Edge
Enhancement to medium to large edges (half of the edges
in the image). A Threshold of 25 will apply Edge

Enhancement to only the largest edges in the image. As
the Threshold value increases, Edge Enhancement gets

You can adjust these image settings any time you have an image in the Acquire

case someone else decides to play with the settings.
An Image Series is multiple images that are grouped together that can be viewed,
exported, emailed and printed as one large image instead of multiple small ones.
One benefit of using an Image Series is that each Image Holder Box in the series can be
loaded with the Laterality, Region and View Position settings that should be assigned to
the image that’s placed in that Box. This not only saves the x-ray tech the time he or
she would spend picking the Laterality, Region and View Position settings before each
image is acquired, but also allows you to take advantage of the Assigned Settings
feature in TigerView where each Region /View Position set can have image quality
settings specific to that combination.
Other settings that can be saved to each Image Holder Box are Keywords, and
automatically rotating and/or flipping any image that’s placed in that Image Holder Box.

The Color Tool is only available when the Viewer holds a color
image. A Color number of zero indicates the image has its
original colors. Color numbers below zero (negative numbers)
remove colors. A Color number of negative100 indicates a
grayscale image. Color numbers above zero give the color image
deeper colors. The Color scale is from –100 to 100.
Hue
The Hue Tool is only usable when the Viewer holds a color image.
The Hue scale is from –180 to 180. Changing the hue changes
the shade of each color in the image.
Gamma
Gamma will not change the whitest and blackest grayscale values
in the image. It will, however, change the in-between colors – the
different shades of gray. When the Gamma Slide Bar is slid up,
the in-between colors are darkened. When the Gamma Slide Bar
is slid down, the in-between colors are lightened.
