Android Vs IOS
In this modern era, smartphone is very much needed in daily life. Everyone must have a
communication tool such as a smartphone to support information and make it easier for them to
do their daily activities. Android and iOS phones are currently the latest, in demand phones.
Some people wonder what is the difference between the two, they are just the same. They are
both smartphones. If we look closely though, we can see that there are key differences and some
of them are written below.
1. Display Customization
When viewed from the interface or both interfaces, both the Android or iOS operating systems
have in common a form of touch gestures such as sliding, tapping, and pinching. It's just that in
terms of freedom of display user interface (UI), there are differences.
The Android operating system has more freedom of user interface (UI) customization than the
IOS operating system. The Android operating system allows users to customize their appearance,
such as adding widgets and shortcuts to the home page, or even changing the entire UI using the
launcher application. Unlike the Android operating system, on the iOS operating system users
are not given the freedom to do that. Although you can still add widgets, widgets on the iOS OS
cannot be installed on the home page but only on the notification bar.
Android devices give users more freedom in accessing applications than iOS devices. Android
phones are equipped with an application store that can be freely and easily accessed through the
role of an HP or PC directly connected to our Google account. Unlike Android, iOS itself has an
application store called App Store which can only be accessed via Apple-made devices.
3. Data Sharing
Sharing data is one of the activities carried out by smartphone users at this time, whether from
HP to PC, PC to HP, or HP to HP. In this case different Android devices with iOS are very
visible. On Android devices, users can share data with other devices using Bluetooth or a USB
cable. Unfortunately, this will be very difficult for users who have a cellphone with the iOS
operating system. That's because iOS devices can't share data to other devices with different
OSes besides using iTunes. No wonder the iOS device is touted as an anti social device because
of its limitations. However, it is difficult for iOS to make iOS devices more difficult to attack by
viruses that can damage files.
The next difference between the two operating systems is the source model. Android is an
operating system with open source or commonly known as "open source", which means devices
with this OS are intended to be released by users. Meanwhile, iOS is a closed source or "closed
source" operating system so users of this OS are not given the freedom to change devices to their
own liking. Although OS with open source at a glance looks superior, but it can also be a
weakness you know. This relates to the open source operating system that can be used by
irresponsible parties who can approve the spread of viruses and malware on the Android OS that
is used.
5. Virtual Assistant
Along with current technological developments, now developers have also provided their
operating systems with personal virtual assistants who can help make it easy for users. You can
make any commands using the help of this virtual assistant such as calling someone, setting an
alarm, opening certain applications, and so on.
The Android operating system itself relies on a virtual assistant named Google Assistant, while
iOS relies on Siri's help. Basically, the two virtual assistants have the same function of helping
users. It's just that Google Assistant offers more things where users can request entertainment or
games, while Siri is more monotonous and rigid.
6. Price
Most people know that iOS produced by Apple company is very different from Android
produced by Google which has now penetrated many factories. From the price point of view,
iOS certainly has a price that is much more expensive compared to Android. This is due to Apple
products that only issue one to two new models / types each year. Unlike iOS, Android issues a
variety of models and types depending on the factories that produce it. The price of an iPhone is
generally still determined by the Apple company, while Android depends on the respective
manufacturer.
Well, those were some of the differences between Android and iOS devices. With some
differences that are owned by both, of course, these two operating systems also have advantages
and disadvantages of each because they both offer clearly different features. Hopefully this can
help and be useful for those of you who are curious about the differences between iOS and
Android and can provide information for those of you who are confused about wanting to buy
one of the two smartphones.
