The forest
There is a lot of rain here and many trees grow very tall. Birds, like woodpeckers,
eat fruit and nuts from the trees and build their nests in them. Woodpeckers are
prey for grey owls, who are the top predators in the forest. Mushrooms grow at the
bottom of the trees, and break down dead organisms. When trees are cut down,
many organisms’ homes are affected.
