I would recommend you use the allowable for the flange material. If necessary, contact the

vendor you'll be acquiring the flange from and ask them for the data.

Can you tell me why the allowable value for this material not available in the caesar flange
Loc: India database.it is a pipeline(B31.8)flange( comes from pig receiever),I checked with B16.5, this
material is not coming under the group.I refered the ASTM A694 standard, the yield strenght is
given as 52ksi for A694 F52.I am not very sure what allowable value to be fed into Ceasar.Do I
have to follow B31.8 to find the allowable value.I hope that caesar database has only B16.5 group

material stress value. And also why we have to approach the vendor to get the value ? And this
standard value should be refered from the respective standard only and not from the vendor ? . if
I am wrong ,please advice me.

The CAESAR II material databases don't contain every material from every Code. We took what
we thought were the most commonly used materials and put those in the databases. If you need

to use a material that isn't in one of our databases, you can (usually) use our "Material Database
Loc: Houston, Texas, Editor" and add what you need. (Note I said "usually", there are some database that we haven't
USA developed an Editor for. In this instance, you will have to manually define the material properties
in the input.)
Contacting your vendor is necessary if you can't find the data you need in the applicable Code.
You should also verify your data with your "Materials Specialist", to make sure everyone along the
way has made the proper decisions and selections.
