ABSTRACT

An environment is named healthy environment once natural cycle

goes facet by facet with none disturbance. Now, within the advance era of people,

there are different dangerous disasters created by the individuals through

technological advancement and specifically, through improper disposing of solid

wastes. Solid wastes area unit is any discarded or abandoned materials.

Republic Act 9003 known as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of

2000” declares a systematic, comprehensive and ecological solid waste

management. provides incentives, penal provisions such prohibited acts and fines

and penalties to those who violates.

The researchers proposed a project that mainly focuses on encouraging

citizens to dispose solid waste properly. A shredder machine that shreds solid wastes

into smaller pieces. This will enable citizens to take the lead in restoring and

protecting the environment and help the community to learn the beauty of

environmental stewardship. This project envision that natural resources are

managed and protected to meet the needs of current and future generation and the

citizens are empowered in pursuing a sustainable environment which provides a

foundation for a vibrant economy and healthy communities.

At the end of this project, target participants/audiences are expected to

encourage citizens to take steps in restoring the environment, raise awareness

pertaining to improper solid waste management disposal; and educate the

importance of environment as our habitat which provides the needs and wants of

everyone.

iii
This project costs an estimation of Php 5,978,000.00 for ten machine from

pre-implementation, implementation and post implementation phase for a single

machine. Through this project, the citizens will be devoted in preserving and

protecting the environment.

CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Rationale

“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of

what we are doing to ourselves and to one another” - Mahatma Gandhi.

Environment provides everything naturally that affects human lives here on Earth.

From the air we breathe every moment, the water which we use in our daily

routine, materials needed to build our house, materials used in the production of

clothes, foods, plants, animals, and other living things that is around us. An

environment is named healthy environment once natural cycle

goes facet by facet with none disturbance. Any sort of disturbance within

the nature’s balance affects the environment wholly that ruins the human lives.

Now, within the era of advance living of people, the environment affected to

an excellent extent by the means that of air pollution, water pollution,

deforestation, noise pollution, soil pollution, acid precipitation and different

dangerous disasters created by the individuals through technological advancement

and specifically, through improper disposing of solid wastes. Solid wastes area unit

any discarded or abandoned materials. Solid wastes may be solid, liquid, semi-solid

or pack vaporised material. If at this stage the management and disposal is wrongly

done, it will cause serious impacts on health, economy and issues to the society.

In 2018, there is a decrease in the produced of solid waste, 7.70 million

tonnes of solid waste was generated, about 9,000 tonnes that is less than in 2017.

2
Many industries and companies hand in hand in taking care of environment. One

step recently issued restrictions for in-store use of plastic straws in the Philippines

such as Jollibee, Starbucks and many more food companies.

Republic Act 9003 known as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of

2000” was approved in January 26, 2001 and came into effect on February 16,

2001. This policy declares a systematic, comprehensive and ecological solid waste

management. This provides incentives, penal provisions such prohibited acts and

fines and penalties to those who violates.

Moreover, people should take an oath together to protect, preserve and

value our environment and use this under natural discipline for this nourish our lives

forever. Lady Bird Johnson once said, “The environment is where we all meet;

where all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” Indeed,

Nature is a miracle we depend upon.

3
Project Mission

Take the lead in restoring and protecting the environment and help the

community to learn the beauty of environmental stewardship. This project is

committed in implementing environmental management practice that will be able

to provide a sustainable and healthy environment and enhance the quality of lives

of our citizen.

Project Vision

This project envision that natural resources are managed and protected to

meet the needs of current and future generation and the citizens are empowered in

pursuing a sustainable environment which provides a foundation for a vibrant

economy and healthy communities.

Project Objectives

At the end of this project, target participants/audiences are expected to:

 encourage citizens to take steps in restoring the environment;
 raise awareness pertaining to improper solid waste management disposal;
and
 educate the importance of environment as our habitat which provides the
needs and wants of everyone.

PURPOSE

Project Motive

The main motive of this project is to teach citizens the responsible

environmental act in restoring the environment.

The project is worth sponsoring for it will enable citizen to take their role as
steward of environment in an exciting way of disposing solid wastes. As they take
the step in eradicating the environmental issues, this will also help them receive
something such as food by earning points.
