concise and easy to memorize so that it could
be used daily in the work that faculty and staff
do for students
Stonehill’s Mission Statement
Stonehill College, a Catholic institution of higher learning founded by the

Congregation of Holy Cross, is a community of scholarship and faith,

anchored by a belief in the inherent dignity of each person.

Through its curriculum of liberal arts and sciences and pre-professional

programs, Stonehill College provides an education of the highest caliber

that fosters critical thinking, free inquiry and the interchange of ideas.

Stonehill College educates the whole person so that each Stonehill

graduate thinks, acts, and leads with courage toward the creation

of a more just and compassionate world.

Student Affairs Division Mission Statement
The Student Affairs Division promotes a vibrant, inclusive community rooted in faith by

fostering a culture of learning that supports the formation of the mind, body, and heart of

each student. We are committed to empowering students to take ownership of their

individual experiences, while instilling in them a sense of shared responsibility for the

development of our community. Aligned with the College’s mission, the Student Affairs

Division challenges our students to deepen their curiosity and think critically in order to

become lifelong learners and ethical leaders within a diverse and global society.
Residence Life Mission Statement
The Office of Residence Life works to create an environment that supports the academic

mission of the college, encourages individual student development, and fosters a

community of inclusivity, responsibility and compassion. The living-learning

environments that we strive to build in our residence halls are characterized by civility and

cooperation, where individual needs and desires are balanced with the common good. By

providing an enriching residential experience, we will afford students the opportunity to

develop life-long skills to become contributing members of society.

The mission of The Office of Intercultural Affairs at

Stonehill is to contribute to the creation, influence,

and sustainability of a community where the dignity

of all people is respected and affirmed.
