PROPOSED 100 BED CITY HOSPITAL
RATIONALE

The Hospital, as a building type, is composed of a complex component. Each of which could well tax the talents of its designer. In
able to design this facility well, it is important to understand that there are existing Health codes and basic building codes
requirements that have to be incorporated into project involving health care. A Holistic Hospital design was based on the idea
that functionality and proper design is a key factor in overall health of the user thus preserving, improving and prolonging the life
of its user, both patient and medical practitioner.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The city of Puerto Princesa witnessed a rapid growth in economy in the past years. For the next decades we expect increase in
economy and population growth in the city center. This will surely increase its need for quality health care facility for the people
of Puerto Princesa and the nearby rural area.

FUNCTIONALITY- each parts are zoned properly


AESTHETICS -Economical Design but with sense of Aesthetic
GREEN ARCHITECTURE and Sustainable Architecture
CHARACTER- Mix of modern and traditional Architecture
LEGAL BASIS- considered existing guidelines for Hospital design which includes local codes, DOH guidelines, Accessibility laws
and National building code.

SITE

Remove all the existing building on site. The site is situated on PSU road corner South National Highway bounded by a creek on
its vicinity.

NOTE

The site is adjacent to proposed Palawan State University College of Medicine thus making this hospital its training center for its
medical /nursing students and its allied.
