The main character, Roberto Ong is also known as Bob Ong. He wrote his autobiography novel
entitled "A.B.N.K.K.B.S.N.P.L.Ako?!" Or "ABa, NaKaKaBaSa Na PaLa Ako?! The movie". The novel
was published back in 2001 by Visual Print Enterprises until it became a movie released under
VIVA Films and MVP Entertainment years back, February 14, 2014. "A.BN.K.K.B.S.N.P.L.Ako?! The
Movie" strred by Andi Eigenman, Meg Imperial, Vandolph Quizon and Jericho Rosales. Andi
Eigenman as "Special Someone" whom Roberto fell in love with in high school while Meg Imperial
and Vandolph Quizon as "Ulo" and "Portia", the two best friends of Roberto. Jericho Rosales played
the main character. The film shows childhood memories of the author from his earliest days as a
student until his first few years at work in school he graduated highschool. The film's main concept
is to reminisce the unforgettable memories in the author's time in elementary, highschool, college
even to his work and dilemma to himself. It talks about the journey of Roberto Ong as a teacher
and of course as a student which was effective enough to gain the wistful of gradeschool and
highschool, and even his past college experiences.
This film has a story that every person who experienced the joys and troubles of education like
what happened to Roberto in this film, playing S.O.S, Spirit of The Pen, Flames, Spin-A-Win, and
other games; he also get troubled when he gave silly excuses to his teacher just to do his
assignment in last minute. This film also showed us the current problems of Filipino family. He had
a hard time telling his parents about his studies. He thinks that he is a failure. The "common"
reason of the students why being a failure is something to be afraid of; scared to dissapoint
everyone in the family. There are also families who support and motivate their child to give his best
after knowing and undesrtanding the child's situation just like how Roberto's family approached
and supported him until he finally decided what career he will pursue.
The movie has realistic life lessons. Most of us can relate from our pre-school memories until the
first time we got a job. School helps us to be ready for the reality. School became our training
grounds to learn and gain knowledge about almost everything. However, the life after school would
be really different. In school, we are aiming for high remarks in quizzes, projects, assignments and
even to rescitation but in the real world, we are aiming high salary and high position in our job. In
today's time, having high attainment in life is giving someone courage and audacity to drag other
people down. Making them feel like they are just nothing and taking advantage to their needs for
survival. In fact, it's not actually about how high someone's attainment is, it is about how someone
contributed to society and use it for personal gain.
Another lesson I have learned in this film that falures will teach us learnings in life. It enables
people to appreciate what we have in front of us. It gives us a chance to do not repeat our
mistakes and have a better understanding of the situation before taking an action. Since life is a
countinuous learning experience despite of failures and heartaches we may experience, it's really
important that we must keep rising then pick-up all the important lessons come from it. Learning
from the books is different from having practical experience we may use in different situations. I've
learned that it is also important to always remember that there are lessons that might come too
late, catching us unprepared, but there are lessons we might get from it. Lessons we cannot simply
learn until we experience it. This film made me realize that we shouldn't let other people' goals and
dreams influence our vision in life. It might give us hesitation that keep us from moving forward,
thinking our what ifs and what might have been. However, what ever may be the outcome, we will
be smarter than before.
