Radio Network Planning and Optimization – Warid Telecom (Ericsson ) Feb, 2014 to August, 2016
Highlights:
Studying new optimization features in Ericsson and Huawei. Implementing them on trial basis
to investigate the impact.
Monitoring accessibility, retainability and integrity KPIs.
Finding the cells that experience persistent degradation in terms of congestion and drop rate.
Performing changes to relieve congestion and reduce drop rate.
Parameter tuning and frequency tuning to reduce call drop rate and improve quality and
throughput.
Taking appropriate measures in case of operational issues in order to maintain optimum
network performance
Analyzing drive test reports in order to find issues in the network which are not identifiable
through network statistics. Examining the DT report for bad quality patches, neighbor related
problems (missing neighbours, incorrect neighbor definitions), call drag and CSFB issues.
Making appropriate changes ccordingly.
Viewing alarms and escalating issues to BSS/FM.
RF Technincal Site surveys (TSS).
Finding possible sources of external interferences in the network. Carrying out surveys in the
areas suspected and identifying the exact sources. Escalating issues to regulatory authority.
Resolving customer complaints. Prioritizing the issues and arranging for site visits in order to
check on ground status.
Planning schedule for quarterly QoS surveys as per PTA’s (regulator) requirement.
Reporting and verification.
