CALL UP INSTRUCTIONS FOR SSB INTERVIEW: TGC-131 COURSES

TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NOTIFICATION

FOR TGC-131 COURSE (JUL 2020)

1. We are pleased to inform you have been shortlisted to attend SSB interview at
Selection Centre South, Bangalore for induction into the Indian Military Academy (IMA),
Dehradun.

2. Candidates are required to report to MCO at Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR),

Bangalore City (SBC) Railway Station at 1400hours (2 PM) as per date mentioned in
Call Up letter for the subject interview scheduled to be conducted at Selection Centre
South, Bangalore. Our representative will receive you and arrange your conveyance to the
Selection Centre. In case of train delay, Candidates may to report directly to the Selection
Centre Bangalore by 1800hours.

3. In case a candidate has a close relative/blood relation posted in the Selection Centre
South in any capacity, he is required to withhold his move and contact us immediately
through e-mail/Tele/Dak. Further instruction regarding change of Centre will be intimated to
you immediately on receipt of such confirmation from you. Withholding information or
giving false information in this regard will render you liable for cancellation of
candidature and or disqualification of commission in case detected subsequently.

4. Candidates must also note that there is no absentee batch being planned for
TGC-131 (Jul 2020) Course.

5. Change of Interview Dates. Request for change of SSB Interview

date/Centre will NOT be entertained or replied.

6. Education Qualifications. As per Notification, only those candidates are eligible,

who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are studying in the final year
of Engineering Degree course (i.e. BE /B.Tech) with cut off % (upto 6 th semester cumulative
for engg degree course/2nd semester for M.Sc computer science/8th semester for
architecture) as mentioned against engineering streams listed at Ser No 07 below :-

7. Discipline wise equivalent Streams alongwith Cut off % are as given under:-

Note :- Candidates must note that only the Engineering streams and their
acceptable equivalent streams, strictly as notified in the table below, will be accepted.
Candidates with degrees in any other engineering stream(s) are not eligible for the
said course. In case of variation between the nomenclature of Engineering stream as
given on the degree parchment/marksheet and submitted by the candidate in his
online application, the candidate will not be allowed for SSB Interview.

Note:- Candidate with cumulative percentage below the cut off % as listed above (upto 6 th
semester for engg degree course/2nd semester for M.Sc computer science/8th semester for
architecture) are not eligible to undergo SSB.

8 Documents. Candidates will bring following documents at the time of reporting for
interview:-

(a) One copy of the Print out of application form duly signed and self
attested Photograph affixed.

(b) Original alongwith two self attested copies of Matriculation/Secondary

School Examination certificate alongwith Passing certificate or equivalent
certificate issued by the concerned Board of education as proof of candidate’s
name, parent’s name (father & mother) and date of birth (No other document like
Admit card/Marksheet/Transfer/School Leaving certificate etc are acceptable).

(c) Original alongwith two self attested copy of 12th Class Certificate & Marksheet
or equivalent.

(d) Original alongwith two self attested copy of Engineering Degree/ Provisional
Degree issued by the University.

(e) Original alongwith two self attested copy of Marksheets of all Semesters.
(Revised marksheets issued by a Board/University after submission of online
application by the candidate will not be allowed for SSB Interview for this course).

(f) A Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/Registrar of the

concerned University regarding formula for conversation of CGPA/Grades into marks
followed by the University.

(g) A Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/Registrar/Dena of the

concerned University or Principal of the college regarding cumulative percentage of
marks upto 6th semester for Engg Degree course/ 2nd semester for M Sc. Computer
science/ 8th semester for Architecture which is applicable to the candidate as per
specimen attached at Appendix ‘A’.

(h) Certificate from the Principal/ Head of the Institution stating that the candidate
is in final year and his result will be declared by 1st of Jul 2020 (for final year
appearing candidates only) as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘B’.

(j) Declaration by the candidate of final year engineering degree course that he
will submit the proof of passing by 1st of Jul 2020 to Dte Gen of Rtg, failing which his
candidature will be cancelled as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘C’.
(k) Declaration by the candidate regarding branch of Engg and cumulatively
obtained % as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘D’.
(l) Candidates Who Have Submitted Their Certificates and Mark Sheets in
College or Institution for Pursuing Higher Studies. Please bring a bonafide
certificate along with certified true copy of those documents as per specimen
attached at Appendix ‘E’.

(m) All certificates as above in Originals will be returned after verification at the
Service Selection Board ITSELF. Any candidate who does not carry these entire
documents for the SSB interview, his candidature will be cancelled.

(n) Photographs & Photo ID Proofs.

(i) 32 x Latest photographs should be white background (not in coat).

(ii) Any One of these ID proofs i.e. Election ID/ Driving license/ Pan card/
Aadhar Card as proof of your identity alongwith two photocopies of the same
duly self attested.

(iii) Photocopy of Aadhar Card is mandatory.

(o) Residential Address Proof. Any One of these residence proofs i.e.
Passport/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill (Landline)/ Ration Card/ Pass Book/ Utility
Bill/ Rent Agreement as Proof of your Residential Address alongwith two photocopies
of the same duly self attested.

(p) Risk Certificate. (To be typed/ handwritten on plain paper and signed by
parent/guardian) as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘F’.

Note :- Failure to produce above documents the candidature of candidate

for SSB will be cancelled.

9. Age Limit. As per Notification.

10. Testing. This will be in two stages over five days. The details are as under:-

(a) Stage I. The Stage I testing will comprise the following:-

(i) An Intelligence Test.

(ii) A Picture Perception and Discussion Test.

(b) In case of candidates do not qualify Stage - I, they shall be required to proceed
out from the Centre by 2 PM the same day.

(c) Stage II. The Stage II test comprises the following and shall be applicable if
candidates qualify Stage-I:-

(i) Psychological Test.

(ii) Group Tests I and II (for two days).

(iii) Interview.

11. Compensation. Government is not responsible for any compensation to the

candidates or to their guardians / heirs for injuries sustained by them during the period of
testing or while using military transport.

12. Travelling Allowance (TA).

(a) TA is admissible for the shortest route only.

(b) Candidates are authorized to travel by AC III Tier / AC Chair Car/Mail/Express

train only (Except Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto). Base fare of the ticket will be given
as TA as per Defence travel rule.

(c) No re-imbursement of TA will be permitted in the absence of original travel

documents.

(d) For tickets booked by Air, TA admissible only as per AC-III fare of train under
Defence travel rule will be provided based on provision of Air Ticket and Boarding
Pass.

(e) Candidates are entitled to TA when you attend the interview for a
permanent commission and short service commission for the first time in
defence services. Such allowance is not admissible for second or subsequent
attempts for the same type of commission.

(f) Re-imbursement of TA will be transferred in Candidates Bank Account through

NEFT. Candidates are also advised to carry sufficient amount in cash for return
journey and personal expenses during stay at Selection Centre South, Bangalore.

(g) Candidates are requested to bring your Bankers details (Acct No, Bank Name,
IFSC Code No, Branch Name & Address) for claiming TA. Candidates to bring these
details as per format attached at Appendix ‘G’.

(h) Please login registered Email ID on WWW.JOININDIANARMY.NIC.IN and fill

the bank details prior to reporting to the Selection Centre. No TA will be
reimbursed if the Bank Account details are not filled online prior to reporting to
the Centre.

(j) Candidates are requested to bring following documents compulsory for smooth
payment through e-tfr :-
(i) Cancelled Cheque.
(ii) Mandate Form.

13. Use of Concession Form. Candidates making use of any concession (from
defence or any other department), you will not be entitlement for TA.

14. Items to be brought. Candidates are advised to travel light with the following
items:-

(a) Two pairs of white - shorts and white T-shirts / shirts for GTO task.
(b) One pair of Sports Shoes preferably in white, one pair of leather shoes, two
pair of white shocks and one pair of colour socks.
(c) Two pair of formal dress (Full sleeves light colour shirt and dark colour
trouser).
(d) Track suit and winter wear as per seasonal requirement.
(e) Adequate writing material.

15. Dress Code. All candidates will wear shirt and trouser with shoes when moving out
of the living area. Appropriate / prescribed dress will be worn for attending each of the tests
which shall be communicated from time to time.

16. Amenities. Facilities for certain indoor and outdoor games are available for use.
Services of cafeteria, washer man shop, barber shop, Internet and STD etc on fixed rates
are available within the campus. No credit facility exists.

17. Cash and Valuables. Candidates are requested not to bring any valuables during
the stay. Safe custody of cash and valuables will be the sole responsibility of respective
candidates. SBI ATM is available at the Centre.

18. Change of Address. Change of address (if any) after submission of application
forms will be intimated to Directorate General of Recruiting, Adjutant General’s Branch,
Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), West Block-III, R.K. Puram, New
Delhi – 110066.

19. Sight Seeing. Candidates may visit places of interest in Bangalore after testing
hours.

20. Do’s.

(a) Be courteous with all the staff interacting with candidates.

(b) Deposit personal mobile phone if retained after stage - I testing. It will be
returned after Stage - II testing.
(c) Move out of living area only in shirt and trouser with shoes or dress for testing.
(d) Meet any visitors only at the visitors’ waiting room or cafeteria but only after
testing hours.
(e) Adhere to punctuality.

21. Don’ts.

(a) Do not visit any area at the Selection Centre other than Candidates’ Mess,
Candidates’ Lines and Testing Areas.
(b) Do not smoke or consume liquor during your stay at the Centre.
(c) Do not attempt to visit any of the staff members or use any means to approach
them directly or indirectly to seek any favour.
(d) Do not tip any staff.
(e) Do not pay any money to touts as bribe.
(f) Do not click photos inside Selection Centre Complex.

22. Any violation of above orders or any act of indiscipline will result in immediate
cancellation of candidature on disciplinary grounds. The decision of the
Commandant, Selection Centre South will be final and no appeal against this decision
will be entertained.

23. Permanent Body Tattoos. Permanent body Tattoos are only permitted on inner
face of forearm i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm / back
(dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not
acceptable and candidates will be debarred from further selection. Tribes with tattoo marks
on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to
case basis. Candidates are required to get the certificate as per Appendix H, J or K (as
applicable) when coming for interview at Selection Centre South, Bangalore.

24. Certificate for not Having Duplicate Profiles/Registration IDs. Certificate

regarding not having duplicate profiles/Registration IDs on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in as per
specimen attached at Appendix ‘L’.

25. For any queries the same may kindly be sent only through Feedback/Queries after
logging in using your registered Email ID on WWW.JOININDIANARMY.NIC.IN. Please do
not use any other means to communicate with Selection Centre South Bangalore.

Warning :- No candidates is allow keep mobile phone during assessment. Same will
be deposited on reporting. Strict action will be taken against anyone found with a self
mobile Phone. Photography inside Selection Centre Strictly prohibited.
