Burgos National High School continuously entails great responsibility in pursuing for
greater possibilities of improvement. It clutches its strengths and embraces
challenges on the context of teaching and learning that influences its processes
and procedures in standing and making decisions around curriculum, instruction
and assessment. These decisions play a vital decree in aligning each school in
the vision and mission of the Department of Education.
The total development and improvement of the school is through its shared
responsibilities to the community it serves. It is along this line that the school tapped all the
stakeholders for a collaborative endeavor to attain the quality standard of education among
and between the pupils, teachers, parents, school head and the community.
Recently, the school received exemplary recognitions not only in the whole province
of Isabela but also in the regional and national level competitions. Its secondary school
principal , Dr. Danilo A. Rarama stood out among all the school heads in the Division of Isabela
and in the region and was awarded as the Most Outstanding Principal for the year 2018 while
Dr. Bettelyn I. Pattalitan, Head Teacher of the school was also declared as the 2018 Most
Outstanding Head Teacher in the Division of Isabela.
Moreover, just this March 2019, the school garnered 3rd place in the search for the
2019 National Best Brigada Eskwela Jingle Making Contest. This undoubtedly proves that the
school is geared towards a holistic development of the learners tapping their intelligence not
just in academic areas but also in the other fields of learning like arts, music and sports.
Furthermore, Burgos National High School also supports the mandate of the
Department of Education’s EFA Goal (Education for All) in making certain that Basic Education
is available to all learners in an inclusive setting. The school reinforces and strengthens this
mandate through the strict adherence of “No Collection Policy” during the enrolment and
throughout the school year enticing the learners to a free basic education program of the
government.
It also aims to upgrade the skills of the learners in information and technology and in
media and communication with the help of the installed computers in the school. It has also
24/7 internet connectivity for easy online research and access to downloadable learning
materials and updated credible internet references propelling the teachers and learners for
the 21st Century Learning.
With regards to its physical setting and facilities, BNHS continues to conjure a
conducive atmosphere among learners. Renovations of the old school buildings are in the
process also to assure everyone of a safe and favorable environment that the school offers.
There is also an ongoing construction of an additional new two-story classroom building for
senior high school. These are all evidences that BNHS is ready for any challenge that our
Philippine educational system brings.
Hence, the School Improvement Plan of Burgos National High School, Burgos, Isabela
was c o n c e p t u a l i z e d a n d f r a m e d i n r e s p o n s e t o a n d i n a d h e r e n c e t o R A

“Consistent with the national educational policies, plans and standards, the school
heads shall have authority, accountability and responsibility for the following:
(1) Setting the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the school;
(2) Creating an environment within the school that is conducive to teaching
and learning;
(3) Implementing the school curriculum and being accountable for higher learning
outcomes;
(4) Developing the school education program and school improvement plan;
(5) Offering educational programs, projects and services, which provide equitable
opportunities for all learners in the community;
