coffee of Filipinos- in all forms be it roast and ground, instant or specialty. “We are now
at 170,000 MT per year, says Guillermo “Bill” Luz, Founding trustee of the country’s
premiere coffee organization. “When we founded the board in 2002, our production was
at a low of 22,000 MT and consumption then was 75,000MT,” he continues.

roasters in the country—Gourmets café, Kickstart coffee, UCC, Siete Baracos, and

Is a Filipino coffee and coffeehouse chain. It was founded by Steve Benitez in


1996 in Cebu City Philippines. The company operates a total of 91 outlets throughout
the Philippines, with about 30 of them located in Metro Cebu, where it is based. Bo's
Coffee sources coffee beans locally from farmers from Sagada, Benguet, Mount
Kitanglad in Bukidnon, Mount Matutum in Tupi, Sout Cotabato, and Mount Apo.

The idea of starting a coffee shop came to Bo's Coffee founder Steve Benitez when,
back when he was a student in Ateneo de Manila University, he always had to drink
coffee to stay awake to study. After attending various seminars and training, he decided
to open Bo's Coffee in a small space in Ayala Center Cebu in June 1996. At first,
Benitez had to give away free samples as the Cebuano market was not yet familiar of
his concept. The business did not produce any profit and was on the negative for its first
three months. However, after eight months, the business started making a profit,
enabling Benitez to put up another coffee cart in SM City Cebu. The coffee shop has
grown considerably since then, growing into its current 91 branches throughout the

My business partnership of the Coffee Shop she also shares equally in the
responsibility of maintaining financial records and ensuring the partnership maintains its
appropriate licenses to legally operate the business. If a partnership determines
management roles for partners in its partnership agreement, each member has a legal
obligation to perform the duties of these management positions. Each partner owes a
duty of loyalty to the partnership, and this duty bars the making of any secret profit at
the expense of the firm and bars the use of the firm’s property for personal benefit. A
partner cannot promote a competing business, and if he does so, he can be liable for
any damages sustained by the partnership.
