techniques facilitate you stress free mind for long time. Let
us know what these techniques are.

Quick Relaxation Techniques

This is a two minute process, which recharges your body,
mind and heart immediately releasing stress. The process
is as follow.

Loosen your clothing and get comfortable on a chair or bed.

Close your eyes and flex the muscles in your toes. Do as

much as you can. Hold for a count of 10. Now relax and
feel the pleasure of release from tension.

Tighten the muscles in your feet. Hold for a count of 10.

Relax and again enjoy the sensation of releasing stressed
muscles.

Move slowly up through your other body parts – focusing

on legs, thighs, abdomen, back, chest, hands, neck and
face. Simply contracting and relaxing muscles of each
body part awakens your body tissues.

During the complete process, breathe slowly.

Page no. 2
Long Term Relaxation Techniques
It is quite similar to quick relaxation process but it goes to
each and every part of body. Follow this procedure.
Tighten your right toe. Hold it for a count of 5. Now let go
and relax. Breathe slowly and deeply. Feel the difference in
feelings between both toes.
Now stretch your left toe, hold at this level and relax. Let
the feeling of relaxing pleasure spread through the legs
and the rest of the body.
Move slowly up through your body – both legs, thighs,
private parts, abdomen, back, chest, both hands, neck,
face, scalp etc.
Now minimally tense every muscle in your body so that
you just feel the minimum tensions… jaws… eyes…
shoulders… arms… chest… back… legs… stomach… Be sure
you keep breathing. Feel the minimum tension in every
part. Let your whole body relax. Feel a wave of calmness as
your stop tensing.
Now, with your eyes closed, take a deep breath and hold it.
Note all the minimum tensions… Exhale and feel the

more time due to a very tight busy schedule. Usually
people start meditation exercises, but stop it after some
time. Couple of enthusiastic individuals, who have
burning desires, succeed to continue. The main problem is
that meditation is not as easy as we assume.

Doing any meditation exercises perfectly is one of the most

difficult jobs in the universe. It is because during the
process, we learn to control our mind, which is like a
monkey who cannot sit at a place for a long time. Your
mind makes each and every effort, whatever it can do to
disobey your commands until it does not find valuable

10 Most Important Life Lessons From God Shiva
That We Must Learn

In Hindu religion, God Shiva represents the universal

consciousness. He has 1008 name; each of them symbolize
a specific nature or force of the universe. He is the creator
and the destroyer of the universe. As a household, he
balances all facets of life; as a Mahayogi he is an awaken
soul; as a guru he is the source of knowledge; and as an
individual he is the ideal personality that we want to
follow. Let’s read 10 most important life lessons from God
Shiva that we must learn to be successful in materialistic
and spiritual life.

1. Self-control is the key

Practicing self-control is the key to success. Whatever you
want to achieve, you can get, if you can control your

Page no. 16
desires, addictions and monkey mind. A controlled and
well-trained mind equals to nothing but a divine power
given to you.

2. Maintain balance in life

Shiva’s family is a wonderful family. Shiva is a monk
spending most of his time in meditation; his spouse
goddess Parvati is a princess; Kartikaya, the elder son of
Shiva is the army chief of deities; Ganesha (second son) is
the giver of wisdom and knowledge. Similarly Shiva,
Parvati, Kartikaya and Ganesha ride on ox, lion, peacock
and mouse respectively. All of these animals are enemies of
each other but they live happily in Shiva’s family. Do you
know, why? Shiva family symbolizes a perfect balance
between the various aspects of life.

3. Nothing lasts forever

Shiva is the god of death and rebirth. He symbolizes the
universal infinite cycle of creation and destruction. He
signifies that life is momentary and what happens today
will not remain the same forever. Once we accept that
nothing is permanent in this world; we become free from
sorrow, grief and sadness.

Page no. 17
4. Happiness is more precious than anything
Shiva is a monk, who is happy with whatever he has. If he
has everything, he is quite happy; if he has nothing, he is
also happy. Being powerful, wealthy or anything (anybody
want to be) does not mean you are missing something in
life. To be happy in life, you need nothing but practicing
detachment from unfulfilled desires and useless thoughts
of the mind. This is the only way to live a happy life.

5. Respect feminine forces

‘Ardhanarishwar’ is one famous Avatar (and name) of
Shiva. In this avatar, he is half masculine (or Shiva) and
half feminine (Shakti). This indicates that to create and to
operate the world we need perfect balance in both forces.
Both are equal and must be treated equally. They are not
made to compete but to co-operate each other to maintain
a beautiful, lovely and enjoyable life.

6. How to suppress negative energy gracefully

“Neelkantha” is another name of Shiva. According to
Hindu stories, Shiva consumed poison to save the world
and locked it in his neck to avoid any harm to himself. His

Page no. 18
name Neelkantha (mean someone having blue neck)
narrates the lesson, we must learn. Once we learn to
control the negative aspects, thoughts and desires existing
in ourselves and surrounding environment, we become
the Shiva.

7. Balance is the ultimate goal of life

Shiva’s trident represents the three different aspects of
nature; (1) Sat, (2) Rajas, (3) Tama. Sat is the purely
positive force; Tama is the completely negative force; while
Rajas is the balancing point of the both of two extremes.
When Sat arises, mind starts to think like a monk, it
denies living in the world; when Rajas arises, mind become
ambitious and struggle to acquire maximum power; when
Tama increases, mind starts to absorbing negativity
destroying each and everything. If you want to enjoy life,
you must learn to balance these three mental forces.

8. Conquer your ego

Ego is nothing but the unsatisfied desires and ambitions
of mind. Once you start to feed them, they start to root in
your heart. Every effort to satisfying them creates another
invisible trap to control your consciousness. As a

Page no. 19
‘Mahayogi’ Shiva teaches us “how to overpower the ego”.

9. Live in present
Shiva is beyond the time (all of three forms including past,
present and future). He is the start and end of the time,
but he himself lives in the present, being himself on the
stage of the world. He meditates not to gain supernatural
powers but to enjoy the present moment; which is more
important and precious than anything in the world. This
is the same message given by the God Krishna in the
Srimad Bhagwat Gita.

10. You must not tolerate evil

God Shiva is the destroyer of evil forces. He tolerates no
injustice; he destroys whatever comes in the way of
goodness. Shiva teaches us not only to protect us from evil
but instructs to fight battle against evil powers too.

Keep your best wishes,

close to your heart and
watch what happens

Know what does
Bible say on meditation?

Bible discusses some specific meditation techniques

similar to Hindu meditation exercises.

Tremble, and do not sin;

Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still.

Meditation is considered as an alien thing among

Christians, but do you know Bible has its own versions of
ancient Hindu practices. Yes, Bible has the miracle word
“Meditation” and it has been discussed in several stories.
The Bible also proposes specific meditation techniques
similar to Hindu meditation exercises. Here we try to find
out if the ancient mindfulness practice is compatible with
Bible or not.

Page no. 28
There are few interesting Psalms having the words
“Meditate” or “Meditation”. For example, in Joshua 1:8,

“God orders to meditate for day and night”.

HAGA (means meditate or ponder) and SIHACH (means

muse or contemplate) are used for meditation in the Old
Testament. These Hebrew words are similar to dwell and
peace. In short, we can say that it is a common practice in
Christians too.

What are Christian Meditation Techniques?

Christian meditation techniques follow patterns similar to
the eastern religious exercises but they have different
purpose. Eastern meditation techniques use mental
practices to achieve the emptiness state of mind to be freed
from “MAYA” (illusion) to get NIRVANA or MOKSHA.
While a Christian practitioner is instructed to meditate to
communicate with the God or the Jesus.
Christian meditation does not use mantra chanting like
modern new age era practices; but it follows other
practices including relaxation, music or concentrating
their focus. Its main objective is to enter in the kingdom of
the God.

Page no. 29
How Guided meditation is similar to Christian meditation techniques?
Today we can find dozens of good guided meditation
tracks on internet or music shops. The guided meditation
helps you to relax and to meditate on a particular thought.
This makes you enter into an emptiness state of the mind
so that you can focus your attention on the desired
thought.

The only difference in eastern meditation and Christian

meditation is, that a Bible follower focuses on the words of
bible instead of an image or mantra. A simple Christian
meditation technique can be described as follow:

Sit in a quiet and peaceful place.

Relax your body and mind through breathing or other

physical exercises. You may use yoga poses for this
purpose as PADMASAN (Lotus Pose), Swastikasan or
Shavasana (Corpse Pose).

Read a line or Paragraph from Bible and close your eyes.

Concentrate your mind and thoughts on that line. Do not

force yourself but let it happen gradually.

Page no. 30
Be aware. You may go into the sleep. If you are aware, you
will not sleep.

Feel the presence of God within you to observing you.

Do this for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. This practice

will help you to attain calmness and happiness.

Do not be anxious
about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will be anxious
for itself. Let the day's
own trouble be sufficient
for the day.
- Jesus Christ

What is Ganesha Vidya
And How Can It Help You?

Ganesha Vidya helps you to identify your

hidden qualities, emotions, powers and darkness
hidden in the depth of heart.
Every stone is a beautiful creation of nature, but it needs a
skilled artisan to reveal its beauty. It depends on how do
you see it? You can bury it in the depth of the foundations
of a beautiful palace where nobody can see it. Or you can
sculpt a beautifully curved god’s idol to worship. “Ganesha
Vidya” is the same process of converting a stone into a
beautiful artistic creation.

“Ganesha Vidya” is the boon of great Indian sages. They

went beyond religion and spirituality to invent several
beneficial applications of meditation practices. Though

Page no. 32
these experiments were discovered to attain spiritual
liberation (MOKSH) but they had been used in the
programming of the human brain also.

These applications involve meditation, yoga, physical

stretching exercises and psychological approaches. Each
meditation technique has its own applications, uses and
benefits. Every practices has a different nature, so these
are used to achieve different objectives, which you can
learn through Ganesha Vidya.

What is Ganesha Vidya?

Ganesha Vidya begins with the purification of the body
and mind. It reawakens an individual’s emotional, mental
consciousness. It helps you to identify your own hidden
qualities, emotions, powers, dark sides hidden in the
depth of heart. Here your body works as a medium to
connect to your own mind, brain and heart. Once you
learn to communicate with yourself, you attain peace,
calmness and ultimate joy of life.

Why Ganesha Vidya?

In India, a small round shaped sand clod is purified by

Page no. 33
chanting mantras. After purification, priests do pran
pratishta (infusing life force) in the sand clod. Later it is
worshiped as God Ganesha (the elephant god). This
process is the symbolic representation of the process of
finding and utilizing your own qualities. That’s why we
choose “Ganesha Vidya” name for the ancient spiritual
practice.

Elephant god Ganesha is the father of knowledge.

Usually we all have something very special talents, which
we do not know. That is the situation where this technique
works miraculously. This knowledge gives you
opportunities to peep into yourself, gives you the power to
recognize your abilities and helps you to gain self-
confidence. It gives you the strength to overcome new
challenges conquering them easily.

What is the use of Ganesha Vidya?

It helps you when you feel too much stressed or depressed,
you are frustrated at all, you are in confusion; you are
having thoughts of suicide, or you have no purpose in life.
Similarly, children, young generation and old people who
are living boring life can have benefits using this ultimate

Page no. 34
ancient practice. If you have other problems like lack of
concentration, lack of memory, lack of self-confidence,
lack of love in relationship, etc, Ganesha Vidya is
beneficial.

How does Ganesha Vidya work?

“Balance” is the core of Ganesha Vidya. Once you succeed
to attain balance with your body, your subconscious mind
and heart start to follow the pattern. This sparks the real
magic. You can feel and see this magic by joining our
Ganesha Vidya program also.

Five elements meditation (PANCH TATVA DHYAN)

technique was developed by ancient Indian mystics to
maintain perfect balancing of the five elements and make
the body healthy. Using these meditation exercises we can
recognize the unbalanced element in the body, we can
remove it to live a peaceful life.

According to Yoga and Ayurveda sciences, the whole world

is made up of five elements, i.e. earth, water, air, fire and
ether (or sky). All living and non-living things of the world
are formed by the formation created by combination of
these five elements. The human body is no exception also.
Page no. 36
If one or more of these five elements becomes unbalanced,
it affects our body, mind and brain leading to various
physical, psychological or emotional problems. Let us
know what these five elements are, how they are identified
and how their balance is restored.

Earth Element
The earth element shows solid state of the mater, it
describes the body’s stability, beauty, strength and mental
stability. Unbalancing of earth element can give you
weakness, heaviness in body and mental / emotional
instability.

Water Element
Water element is an indicator of the continuous phase of
matter. If determines mobility, purity and body
temperature. If water is unbalanced, you may feel
nervousness, lack of blood, migraine, blood related
problems as well as lack of concentration.

Fire Element
The fire element represents power and energy of the sun.
Page no. 37
It controls our emotions, nervous system, digestion system
and thought process. If fire element is unbalanced, you
may feel aggressive, sadness, grief, week digestion, lack of
confidence etc. problems.

Wind Element
This element is the gaseous state of matter which tells the
body’s mobility. The air element keeps our body moving.
Once the wind element is out of body, body is no more
alive. So you can understand why perfect balancing of
wind element is essential for our body.

Ether (Sky) Element

Ether element is also known zero element. The ether
element is the base of the universe. If ether is not balanced,
it can destroy the whole universe within a very short span
of time. Ether element indicates an individual’s spiritual
and emotional progress.

The Five Elements Meditation (PANCH TATVA DHYAN)
is a very simple technique; even a ten year old child can do

it after learning. First of all, we try to find out which
element is unbalanced in the body. Once we know it, we
start the process to re-balance it. For example, if you are
angry I would advise you to meditate on water element,
but if you are angry and unhappy, you should meditate on
fire and air instead water element.

It is quite easy to know which element is missing the

balance. You can learn it observing your Nadis. Usually we
detect it observing nerves located in our right hand and
near the throat area. Once you know which element is
creating ruckus, you can suggest proper meditation
therapy to heal body. The therapy includes appropriate
yoga postures, hand gestures and stretching exercises
before meditation. Sometimes you may need spa or steam
bath also.

Precautions
Five elements meditation is a very intense meditation
program, so whenever you come, make sure you don’t eat
anything before 2 to 3 hours of meditation. Especially
