SUBJECT: SEMINAR-WORKSHOP IN CAMPUS JOURNALISM FOR PUBLIC & PRIVATE SCHOOL


PAPER ADVISERS

1. To further enhance the journalistic skills of school paper advisers and update them on new trends in
newspaper management as well as on various categories in journalism, this office shall conduct a
three-day live out Seminar-Workshop on Journalism for Public and Private School Papers Advisers
on May 23-25, 2018, at San Roque Dau High School, Lubao, Pampanga.

2. The seminar-workshop specifically aims to:

a. equip school paper advisers/ teacher-coaches with the knowledge and technical know-how
in school paper management.
b. equip campus journalists with the skills in collaborative desktop publishing and on the
additional categories for senior high schools, and relate these on current trends, issues,
concepts;
c. produce a four-page publication; and
d. improve their own school publications based on feedbacks and assessment.

3. Participants in the training are the select school paper advisers for both elementary/junior/ senior
public and private high schools
a. The Training Matrix and the complete List of Participants shall be released through a division
memorandum after the planning meeting with the Trainers, DASSPA/DAESPA Officers which
is set on May 11, 2018, 3:00 P.M. at the Teacher’s Training Center, DepED, Division of
Pampanga, CSFP.

4. Participants are requested to bring their own laptops with installed Publishers Program (for
Elementary) and InDesign (for junior and senior high school), pocket wifi, and other gadgets necessary
in the writeshop. They are further advised to bring back issues of their school papers with their soft
copies which will be used in the critiquing and workshop activities.

5. Expenses which include food and training kits shall be charged against the Division MOOE Funds.
Meanwhile, all other expenses incidental to the seminar-workshop are chargeable against school
paper funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules.

6. Participants shall be entitled to a three-day service credits pursuant to DO No. 53, s, 2003 following
all the set guidelines and requirements.
