CEMENT BOARD
The Earth Friendly Board
VIVA WOOD CEMENT BOARD is manufactured from wood, cement and mineralising
agent. The combination of these raw materials resulted in a board with unique properties not
found in other board materilas. Viva board has benefit of properties of cement, that is, it is
extremely durable, resistanto weathering, fungus, moisture, termite and fire. It also has the
benefit of wood as it is worable with most wood working equipment.
Internals
– Dry wall, Wall Cladding
– Sound and Fire Resistance Partition
– Ceiling, and Wall Lining
– Toilet and Show Cubicles
– Flashing
– Standard Wall Lining
– Flooring
– Column Casing
Externals
– Prefabricated House Panels
– Wall Linings
– Fascias
– Roof Decking / Sarking
– Tunnel Lining
– Wall Cladding
– Eave Lining / Soffits
NAILING STAPLING
Panels up to 12mm thickness may be nailed VIVA BOARD can be fixed to timer frames
without pre-drilling. For a board thickness by using compressed air driven staples.
above 12mm, a pilot hole of 80% of nail
diameter must be pre-drilling through. Length
of the nail should be approximately 3 times
the thickness of the board
SCREWING BONDING
When normal wood construction screws are When glueing VIVA BOARD, use only alkali
used, a pre-drill of hole size. To 80% of the resistant adhesives. These including
shank size is necessary. The length of the polyurethane or epoxy resine base
screws should be approximately three times
the board thickness. Self drilling, self
embedding head screws can be used with
powered screw-drivers without pre-drilling
JOINTS
The Choice and method of joint details will depend on several factors including
- Application
- Location (internal or external)
- Board thickness
- Surface finishing required
In order to allow board movements caused by moisture and temperature, a gap of 3mm between boards should be allowed
when used in internal application and larger gap of 5-6mm in external application.

PAINTING FILLING
VIVA BOARD can be Screw and nail holes,
coated with a wide rang damaged or uneven joints
of paint these include: can easily remedied with
- Emulsion paint proprietary filler
- Gloss paint
- Polyurethane (PU)
- Polyester
- Epoxy
LAMINATION
WALL PAPER
VIVA BOARD Can be decorated with vinyl or conventional wallpaper by using
appropriate adhesive. When applying overlays, it is recommended that the board
balanced by applying a compensation laminated or coat with primer on the
undercoated side. To avoid crack at joints, usage of glass fiber reinforced or cellular
rubber wallpaper is recommended.
TILLING
Ceramic tiles and mosaics can be bonded to VIVA BOARD using recommended
adhesives. A coat of primer must always be applied on the reverse side.
TRANSPORTATION
It is recommended to strap the VIVA BOARD together preferably on a wooden pallet when transporting. When strapping,
edge protection should be provided to ensure that the board edges are not damage. The boards should be protected against
moisture during transportation. This is done by covering thenm with trpaulin or canvas shsst.
STORAGE
Indivdual sheets should not transported or stored upright.
The board should be stored by laying them horizontally on pallets
or beams with sufficient support to avoid sagging
The board mush be protected from the effect of weather with
protective covering sheets
In case the board are accidentially exposed to water, they should be
allowed to dry individually before restacking
SOUND INSULATION

Sound insulation can be improved by using insulation in a double skin all construction. Tests have been conducted on cement
board with similar properties as VIVA BOARD and the results are as follows:
