The document summarizes key details about the Airbus A380 aircraft. It is the world's largest passenger airliner, manufactured by Airbus starting in 1988. The first flight was in 2005, though electrical issues caused a two-year delay. The A380 burns 50% less fuel per passenger than competitors and has lower noise emissions. It was first delivered to Singapore Airlines in 2007 and production peaked at 30 per year in 2012-2014, though production is scheduled to end in 2021 due to lack of orders. As of 2019, Airbus had received 290 orders total and delivered 235 aircraft.

Soumya Raj Rakshita Singh Manvi Taneja Simran Sihag Arushi Chauhan INTRODUCTION TO AIRBUS A380
The A380 double-deck jetliner’s route network continues to grow as
customer airlines expand their commercial operations to destinations around the world. An A380 takes off or lands every two minutes on average somewhere in the world. It is the world's largest passenger airliner. It is a wide-body aircraft manufactured by Airbus. Airbus studies started in 1988 and the project was announced in 1990. The first prototype was unveiled in Toulouse on 18 January 2005, with its first flight on 27 April 2005. It obtained its EASA and FAA type certificates on 12 December 2006. Difficulties in electrical wiring caused a two-year delay in the project. Airbus’ A380 also delivers superior environmental protection, resulting in 50% less CO2 emissions per passenger than its nearest competitor. Further demonstrating the A380’s reputation as a good neighbour and sustainable solution is the jetliner’s low noise emissions. In many cases, the larger wing area of the A380 enables it to land significantly slower, which generates half the noise of competing large aircraft. It was first delivered to Singapore Airlines on 15 October 2007 and entered service on 25 October. Production peaked at 30 per year in 2012 and 2014. On 14 February 2019, after Emirates reduced its last orders in favour of the A350 and the A330neo, Airbus announced that A380 production would end by 2021. As of February 2019, Airbus has received 290 firm orders and delivered 235 aircraft; Emirates is the biggest A380 customer with 123 ordered, of which 109 have been delivered. MARKETING STRATEGY
