Multicultural Influence in Organization
A work culture is the values, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that employees share
and use on a daily basis in their work. The culture determines how
employees describe where they work, how they understand the business, and how
they see themselves as part of the organization. As in this organization, LTH core
values are teamwork, professional, caring, committed and embracing change. LTH
expects their employees to behave the certain way which encompassing the core
values. For example, being punctual, respect others and superior, is the main
common culture
Yes. Although Lembaga Tabung Haji consist of all Muslim employees, which
majority is Malay, the Malay culture do influenced work culture and performance.
In Lembaga Tabung Haji, for example, every time when the prayer time comes,
usually the managers and the employees would go to the surau and perform the
prayers together (berjemaah). That really emphasizes the caring value that LTH
trying to nurture in the organization. Plus, Islam is the main religion for Malays, so
where there are festivals like Hari Raya Puasa, every department will work together
to arrange an openhouse where all employees, corporate clients, retirees are
invited. That would certainly encourage teamwork and creates a better connection in
and out of the organization.

Yes.
NIOSH is a multicultural organization, so, the individual culture may affect the work
culture as in communication. There is times where communication is the barrier for
employees to be productive because sometimes miscommunication occurred.
However, NIOSH will celebrate festivals for all culture, for example, the recent
festival which is Deepavali. When celebrating deepavali, the department will take
part to decorate the office, which involves people from different culture also. The
festivals is also the platform to share knowledge and bond with each other. So when
employees are bonded, the performance and the teamwork also improved.

Based on the findings of the interview, on the suggestion that I could suggest to
solve the problem is to improve cultural literacy of employees. One of the ways that
organization could improve cultural literacy is to provide/sent employees to a
multicultural training/ courses/ programs.
