Appendix A4 – Aluminium Foil Vapour Barrier Jacket

(Glass fibre reinforced aluminium foil)
Description Application
An extremely durable and puncture resistant aluminium Aluminium Foil Vapour Barrier Jacket is used as a covering
foil laminate with a 5 mm x 5 mm glass scrim and a to prevent the ingress of moisture, dust and dirt into the
LDPE surface coating. It is used as a factory applied, fully insulation that it covers.
adhered vapour barrier jacket on KoolthermTM FM Pipe
Insulation and KoolthermTM Insulated Pipe Support Inserts.
Aluminium Foil Vapour Barrier Jacket is manufactured
under a quality control system approved to
BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 (Quality management systems.
Requirements).

Appendix C – KoolthermTM Insulated Pipe Support Inserts – Design Data

KoolthermTM FM Insulated Pipe Support Inserts (App. five. They are designed to support the maximum static
E: Figure E4) are available to suit a full range of pipe compressive loads imposed by horizontal water filled mild
diameters and in a full range of insulation thicknesses as steel (BS 1387: 1985 (1990) - heavy grade) and copper
shown in the following table, however, special sizes are pipework with hanger supports spaced at the maximum
available on request. Load bearing calculations for the centres shown below.
