 OUR COLLEGE EMBLEM AND MOTTO
The College Emblem is designed representing the ethical and
cultural background of Madurai City. Gopuram represents the City
of Temple, Madurai. Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman is the deity of
Madurai and she represents Mangayarkarasi Institutions. Lotus
symbolizes love, Ahal Vilakku - knowledge and Gopuram -the
spiritual wisdom.

Lotus with sweet nectar represents the heart !lled with love.
Its petals denote arul the embracing compassion for all humans.
Lotus is depicted by Hindu ethics as the seat of Saraswathi the
goddess of wisdom and Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. This signi!es
that both wisdom and wealth achieved with love for all human
beings, will be meaningful.

Meenakshi Amman is an Incarnation of Sakthi and the !rst

Mangayarkarasi. She rules over Madurai and won the hearts of her
people.

Mangayarkarasi is the queen of the Hindu Pandia King

Nedumaran who embraced Jainism later. With her sel"ess love and
service to her husband, her deep devotion to her religion and dutiful
consciousness for her people, she brought the King back to Saivism.
When king becomes sel!sh in any of his motive and in his actions, the
entire country suffers. She made him realize that and in consequence
he atoned for his mistakes. Hence her people held her in high esteem
and she was praised as “Mangayarkku Arasi”. Saint Thirugnana
Sambanthar in one of his verses, praised her so high that he placed
even Madurai second to her in status. His Thevaram says that even
Alavai (Madurai) has become great and reknown only because of the
existence of Mangayarkarasi in Madurai.

Our institution named after these two Mangayarkarasi.

When a girl with a loving heart achieves wisdom through education
and becomes self-reliant and service motivated then she will be
placed in the highest pedestal as “Mangayrkarasi” by the society.
That is ‘our motto’

Mangayarkarasi College is dedicated to the cause of education for

women and endeavor to develop their !nest potentialities according
to their capacities and thereby prepare them to take their place in
domestic, social and national life effectively and ef!ciently.

About Our College :

Our College is located at Paravai. Madurai North
Taluk. The Campus is bestowed with a pastoral atmosphere, a classic
beauty of nature spreading over a vast area of 75 acres providing a
pleasant and calm environment.
It is a matter of pride that this college was established
on 1st Sep 1997 by the great visionary and philanthropist
AmararPitchiah Pillai originally with just two UG courses B.Com
and B.Sc (C.S) at present our college offers eight UG courses and !ve
PG courses, twelve certi!cate courses, two training courses, one
professional course and four Diploma courses in different
disciplines. Our Mangayarkaasi College is a self –!nancing
institution af!liated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The College

 RULES AND REGULATIONS

All the students abide by the rules and regulations of the college

* On becoming a member of the college everyone should

accept the obligation to obey the rules and regulations of the
college.

* Students should be respectful towards their Superiors,

polite and courteous to all.

* While attending a class or a meeting, students are expected

to be attentive and silent.

* Students should not damage the building, furniture or the

Library books. The cost will be collected from the students
if any damage is caused.

* Students should be punctual.

* Visitors are not allowed during the class hours.

* Every student shall maintain silence and be attentive while

attending classes, meetings of the college associations and
other gatherings.

* Every student shall strive to keep the alignment classrooms

and campus clean and eco – friendly.

* Cell Phone is not permitted for students in the hostel and in

the College Campus.
Indulging in any of the following will result in dismissal from the
college
* Ragging of any sort or indulging in emotional violence
inside the college/hostel campus.

* Any kind of malpractice (cheating, copying in tests and

examinations, giving false declarations etc.) in the campus
or anywhere else.

* Leaving the campus without proper intimation.

Late Comers:
Student entering the college after the assembly should
meet the Principal and explain to her the reason and shall sign in
the late register.
A Student who does not return on the reopening day after
the holidays shall be subjected to disciplinary action.

ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE:

1. A student should possess 90% attendance to take the
University Semester Examination. If the attendance is below
90% the student is not permitted to appear for the Examination.

2. Application for leave shall be addressed to the Principal and

submitted through the Head of the Department. It must be
counter signed by the parent.

3. In Case of Sickness, medical certi!cate should be attached with

the leave application.

4. Without leave letter a student absents herself for more than ten
days the College will strike off the name of the student from the
register.

5. Disciplinary action will be taken on students who absent

themselves frequently.
LIBRARY
1. Book should be returned on the speci!ed date.

2. Books issued can be renewed after they are returned.

3. Reference books should not be taken out of the library.

4. Books should be replaced in the original place afer reference.

5. Personal books should be left outside the library.

6.A!ne of rupee one will be levied for each day of late return

7. Perfect silence should be observed in the library

8. Library timing will be from 8.30 am to 4.00pm on all

working days

Clearance of fees dues is a must for

* Permission to write the semester exam.

* Getting Transfer Certi!cate from the college.

* Aformer or present student desiring to obtain a certi!cate

(Transfer, Character, Bona!de, etc) Shall apply for it, by
making a formal written request to the Principal.

*ACerti!cate will not generally be issued in less than 24 hrs

 HOSTEL RULES & REGULATIONS
Application forms for hostel accommodation are issued in the
college. Only those who have secured admission in the college and
have paid the college fees are admitted.All matters pertaining to the
hostel have to be reffered to the warden. Admission to this college
does not guarantee admission in the hostel.
1. Hostel will be allotted on !rst come !rst serve basis, subjected
to the availability of hostel seats.
2. Hostel fee and mess charges for every month shall be paid by
5th of the month in advance.
3. No hostler shall be allowed to stay out without request of the
local guardian and written permission of chief Administrator/
Warden. Decision of the chief Administrator / Warden will be
!nal in such cases.
4. No guests are allowed, other than student's guardian/mother
/father in the hostel in any case. If hostler to be taken out,
prior written permission is must mentoring when, with,
whom, how long.
5. The hostelers are advised not to keep any valuable article in the
hostel. for any theft or loss of valuable articles, it will be the
sole responsibility of that hosteler and by way of no means
what so ever hostel management can be held responsible for
such lose.
6. Any damage to the property of hostel/hostel management
shall have to be paid in cash individually or the persons
responsible or jointly by all the hostelers. it will not be
adjusted from caution money.
7. Caution money will be refunded only by 15th of June of year
even if a hostler leaves hostel earlier for any reason
whatsoever. He will be required to clear all dues. No
adjustment of any balance amount payable will be
permissible from the caution money.
8. Hostel fee shall be chargeable for at least one month
irrespective of the date of joining,while minimum mess
charges shall be for 15 days.

9. A hostler will have to take permission and no dues certi!cate

from the certi!cate from the chief administrator / Warden
when she !nally leaves the hostel. The caution deposit will be
refunded only when no dues certi!cates has been submitted.

10. The Hostel authorities shall keep the hostel clean and
hygienic and the hostelers shall help in doing so.

11. The hostler shall get breakfast, lunch and dinner, as per
the menu displayed every week.

12. Mobile phone is not allowed. We expect parent's full

cooperation.

13. No hostler shall be allowed to take meal from outside

during her stay in the hostel.

14. No inter exchange of rooms shall be allowed without

written approval of the hostel authorities.

15. In case a student wants to go to her home town,she shall

have to inform in hostel authorities in writing and make
entries in the register while going and coming back
accordingly.

16. Playing of games in the corridor or on the roof is not allowed.

17. VISITORS DAY: Every second Saturday between 10A.M to

2.P.M

18. A Student, who wishes to leave/vacate the hostel for a valid

reason, should obtain a written permission from the principal
to cease to be a hostelite
SEMESTER FEE REGULATION:
In order to enhance the quality of institution, the academic
year is divided in to two semesters and each semester consists of a
minimum of 90 working days without counting the University exam
days.
