careful planning and organization.
a. How many times have you written a paragraph?
b. What do you think makesan effective paragraph? Writing good paragraphs will helps us stay
on track when we draft and revise what
we write.
a. Unity - simply means that all of the sentences in the paragraph are related to topic sentence.
b. Adequate Development – the topic sentence in the paragraph should be elaborated on using
concrete evidences, different examples, relevant facts, and specific details.
c. Coherence – this means that the sentences are arranged in a logical manner, making them easily
understood by the reader. Coherence is achieved when ideas flow smoothly

a partner and write a paragraph about what they like about each other. Working with their partners, they

revise their paragraphs by applying the techniques they learned from this lesson.
