Formatting Requirements for Manuscripts

(Please use this sample page)

TITLE
The title should be 16-Point Times New Roman (TNR) Bold, Capitalized and Centered
N.N. FIRSTAUTHOR1 & M.M. SECOND AUTHOR2

ABSTRACT
The abstract should not be longer than 10 lines, 11-point TNR in a block indent and should contain
the essentials and the motivation as well as the results of the paper. Keywords: A maximum of 8 keywords
should be indicated in Italic.

PAPER
The main text of the paper should be in 12-point TNR and each paragraph must be indented as shown
here. Although there basically is no page limit, we suggest that the full body of the paper shall not
exceed 30 pages, if you need more space, please consult the editors. Please do not use headers/footers/
page numbers in your manuscript.

1. INTRODUCTION
This is a beginning section which states the purpose and goals of the following writing. This is gener-
ally followed by the body and conclusion.

2. SECTIONS
Please use section headings (14-point TNR) in the manuscript. Section headings should be numbered
(with numeric headings, not Roman) and bolded.

Table names and legenda, figure names and legenda, chart names and legenda must be below the
graphic, bold and left justified. Please use Roman numbering (I, II, III, IV, V,…) for Table I, Table II,
etc. Chart 1, Chart 2, etc. but Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Figs. 3, Figs. 1-3, Fig. 3a, etc.

With respect to affiliations of authors, please use arabic numbers (1,2,3…) and put necessary informa-
tion at the bottom of the first page.

1
Address correspondence to: N.N. Firstauthor, Affiliation, Postal address, Email address. 2 M.M. Secondauthor all in 10-point TNR

2.1 THE ART OF REFERENCING

When referencing in the text use the following types (Lastname Year), (Lastname & Nextname Year),
(Lastname et al. Year), or Name (Year), e.g. (Burger 2005), (Burger et al. 2006), (Burger & Koch
2000), (Springfield 2004a), etc.
2.2 Equations
All equations must be double indented and numbered. The numbering for each equation should be
consecutive, in parenthesis, and right justified such as e.g.
F = A B x2 √[(1-x)/(ex2)] (1)

All mathematical and physical quantities must be defined in the paper either before they appear in the
equation or immediately after the equation. It is highly recommended that the symbols listed in the
Terminology book published by Agne Rustan be used throughout the manuscript.

3. FIGURES
All figures must be consecutively numbered with arabic numerals (1,2,3…) such as Fig. 1, etc., the
figure legend must appear below the figure. The figure legend should be rational, i.e. the figure legend
should clearly indicated the physical or mathematical quantities plotted along the vertical and horizon-
tal axes. Metric units shall be used exclusively (but US units may be added in parenthesis for the ben-
efit of the US-readers). The labelling of the axes must be such that the text will be clearly legible even
when the figure is reduced in size by 50%! Make sure that you prove this by copying the manuscript
and checking for legibility. Also, any written text inserted in the figure must be large enough to be still
legible when reduced in size. Color photographs can be reproduced. Do not use yellow colors or pale
colors in the figures as they do reproduce very badly or may even disappear completely.

Any physical and mathematical quantity has either units or is dimensionless. Please clearly indicate the
[units] chosen and put them into [brackets].

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This is a statement of gratitude for assistance in producing the work.
