Part One - Verbal Reasoning
Instructions for verbal reasoning
This assessment is designed to assess your understanding of words and
relationships between words.

Each question has six possible answers. One and only one is correct in each
case.

Please note that these examples are an indication of the type of questions you
will be asked and the format that the questions will take, not the level or the

Instructions for Abstract Reasoning


This assessment is designed to assess your ability to perceive and understand
the relationships between abstract shapes and patterns.

Each question has six possible answers. One and only one is correct in each
case.

Please note that these examples are an indication of the type of questions you
will be asked and the format that the questions will take, not the level or the

Answers:

Verbal Reasoning

1. 2 – Sick means the same as unwell


2. 3 – You drive a car and fly an aeroplane
3. 5 – Wood is the odd one out, all the others are food products
4. 5 – Dark means the opposite of light

Numerical Reasoning

1. 5 – The sequence goes up in twos


2. 4 – All the other fractions can be reduced further
3. 2 – 10 is equal to 10 times 1. 100 is equal to 10 times 10
4. 5 – It will take 1 hour to travel 30 miles, and 30 min for the remaining 15 miles

Abstract Reasoning

1. 5 – The top four boxes alternate 2,4,2,4 dots respectively. The orientation of
the two-dot boxes alternate also.
2. 4 – This is the only answer in which both boxes are closed. All the others
have one open box.
3. 6 – The answer is 6 as the relationship is one of symmetry. Just as the first
two items are symmetrical to each other, answer six is symmetrical to the third
item.
