IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

READERS’ REVIEWS

• It’s okay to fail, my son is an aggregator to child mindset. It’s about teacher theory
to teach, not to memorize. An excellent work of child psychology...A great work...I
hope more from author. Keep at it.

• Jyoti Prakash Pathak – Father, Chartered Accountant by profession.

• It was an excellent journey when I was reading your epic. Your views on present
day methods of teaching, which will take our children nowhere in the future, are
right.

I am associated with one of my friends, Mr. Alfred John, who is an educationist and
fifth generation teacher, runs an educational institution called ST MICHAELS
AKADEMY in a remote and backward village called KARUVELANGADAI near
Nagapattinam on Nagapattinam-Velankanni highway, where almost all students are
like the ones in Mr. Rahul Saxena's batch mates and he almost adopts the methods
envisaged by you in your epic called IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON. To everyone’s
surprise the results are excellent.

• S. Meenaakshi Padmanabhan, St. Michaels Akademy

• It's a delightful read; hard to put down once you start reading it. The book
identifies the much needed change in ideology - developing an interest in learning
through formal education rather than merely imparting information. I look forward to
this author's future works.

• Amazon Reader, name unknown.

• What a lovely story believe me awesome, awesome, awesome.

– Shahid Badshah, MD, Digital Picasso

• It is absolutely fabulous. Every parent and teacher should read this work. Well
done sir for a very timely work. My new year’s resolution is to be like Rahul your
protagonist at least 10%!!! Thanks for a wonderful reading experience.
• Prof. K. M. Raghavendran, Bangalore. A reader.

• Sir, after reading a tremendous book like 'IT'S OKAY TO FAIL MY SON', I have
become a huge fan of yours. Now, even if I get stuck in some situation, I remind
me of your point of view in my own mind. Strange right? But, actually it is true!
Till now, I have read many inspirational stories but never like yours! You are a real
genius sir!
• Madhukar Chaturvedi – A reader.
IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

• One of the most demanding book I found. Must be read by each parent. The most
awful thing in India of this generation parents is; always taking failure as if there is no
option after that. I wish each parent has to be practical to accept that no one can
teaches the best lesson than our own experiences of failure.
• Sanjana, Amazon Reader.

• Thought provoking. The entire thought process of a father making a child

understand and comfortable with the fact that it is ok to fail in this highly competitive
and stressed life is something very unique.
– Imshu Bansal – President, Rotary International Downtown Club.

• Not only is the book well-written but is also inspirational. I had always been a top
student in school but suddenly, the desire and passion went missing upon reaching
university. This reflected in the downward trend of my grades.

I found solace in your book. I already agreed with most of the ideas presented in
your book but Rahul's philosophy strengthened my ideology. After reading your
book, it was clear to me that I had lost my passion not intellect. Thank you for
writing such a wonderful book. I look forward to reading more of your work in the
future.

• Kartik Agarwal – A reader

• Very enthusiastic writing to you about the book written by you. Because it approx
99% as I wanna in my life. To tell you the truth, in last 1 year, 3 times I tried
committing suicide. Last 2-3 months ago, I got stabled by regular follow up of the
ma psychiatrist. But now again m going in that condition of confusion, depression
etc. and wanted to commit it again but I read your book and got stabled. So, I
am very thankful to u for your book. Please keep writing like this. And also I wanna
tell u that this is my first book in my life which I'v read in English. Please keep going
on.

• Somanath Kakade, A reader.

• We recently ordered and read one copy of your book "It’s Okay to Fail, My Son". We

and parents on a similar mental journey towards pursuing excellence.

• Robin Varghese, A reader.

• I am unable to figure it out how shall I start to comment on your well written book, I
am falling short of words to express my gratitude towards your thoughts which
IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON
you have poured in the book. It’s an eye opener for parents rather than our
children. Over expecting, comparing unnecessarily and what not we do with our own
children, unknowingly how we shatter their confidence and self-esteem? I
would once again congratulate and also wish you luck for your dream to write more
such kind of inspirational books for the well-being of our future leaders.

• Rajesh Mittal – Secretary, Rotary International Downtown Club.

• Title invokes curiosity, I liked story the most. The writing keeps you engaged & I
could read whole book in one go. I think the book is must read for all parents & also
teenaged children – Bhushan Nevagi – Professional and Father

• Very touchy subject for the father in me. Relevant topic in today’s time. – Rakesh
Soni, General Manager, GEB, Baroda and father of 10 years old.

• Good novel for students as well as parents. Must read it.

• Gurpreet, Amazon Reader.

• My curiosity is raised after going through first few pages. The topic is relevant &
should click with Indian people in general & parents in particular. – Prashant Sawant,
Corporate Trainer

• Liked the storyline and narration. Must read for all parents. – Vipin Rao –
Managing Director, Rud India a multinational company.

• I have enjoyed reading the first 3 chapters of your book. The prelude sets the stage.
The narrative is such that one can sense the emotions of Rahul, Sheetal and
Sachin. - Sanjay Srivastava – Ex CEO, Smart Mobile. Motorola JV Company.

• Awesome! You have captured very sensitive topic so beautifully in the form of story.
I wish every parent and teacher read this and bring about a different outlook in the
way they bring up children and students. Hats off to you Sir. Great book and I have
already recommended this to many folks...

• Rajendra Tapadia, A reader.

• The subject of the book is very relevant for me at this stage. My son is appearing for
his 10th standard exams starting next month. He is into his last month of preparation
and studies. I decided to support him during this period by taking leave from my
office work and be at home during this period.

The other aspect of the book dealt with believing in people (or students) who have
not done well or branded as poor performers. Again, I can share from experience
IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON
here. I work in a software company. I have a team of 80 members spread across
locations. As any other team, there is a good mix of high performers in the team and
others who have not done well in the past. In the last 12 months, I have tried to
focus more on the persons who have not been performing. Instead of going through
a formal route of performance improvement through the HR department, I tried to
engage with them informally. I realized by speaking to them more regularly,
discussing their challenges and appreciating their outputs, these members are now
more interested, engaged and involved in the job. Their performance and
contributions are also much better now. It is taking more time for some of them, but
most of them have responded well. The point in your book about creating interest in
learning as part of the education process is very pertinent.

I hope this book is read by all the parents who have children. I hope this book is also
read by the teachers and various educationists. We can surely take some baby
steps to create more scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, sports champions in the
coming years.
• Deepak Kewalramani, father, reader.

• I just finished reading your book ‘It's okay to fail my son’. I found the main message
of treating and teaching children very practical and useful and should be followed by
every parent and teacher.

I recall my own experience of how I started hating biology because of a poor teacher
and at the same time started enjoying mathematics due a wonderful teacher.
Teachers can make or mar a student’s interest in the subject.

I am recommending your book to my friends and relatives. Once again many

congratulations for writing such a book. You have made the first book read in 2016
memorable for me.

• It is an amazingly and beautifully written book sir. You have written the different
ways in which children are distracted from studies due to their physical incapabilities,
financial, personal problems etc. and have also given nice solutions for each of it.
You have also described in detail the importance of parents and teachers in a child's
life. This book should be read by everyone for them to understand the contributions
of a teacher to the society, the problems faced by the children and the sacrifices and
responsibilities of parents. I'm very thankful to us as you have given solutions
for many problems faced by a child and have also given tips to improve our
interest on a subject. All the best for your next book sir!!!

• Ridhi F. Dayal – A reader and class X student

• It is a beautifully articulated book, so simple yet so true which we see / encounter in

our daily life. I am a working mother and a very passionate person when it comes to
work or doing or getting things done and while I was reading this book, I could find
myself doing the same mistakes almost … I am glad I got to read the book at the
right time and I am sure, I will change something for the good of my child.

IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

• I am a father of two boys to whom I want to give the best available on this planet.
Honestly, I am not very fond of reading but just the title of your book couldn't stop me
from ordering a copy on Amazon and believe me it was the first thing I did after I
came back home flying back from Bangalore.

You really have done a tremendous job picking up a topic which is much needed in
our lives today. Reading the book I relate myself to Rahul and out of my enthusiasm

• Just finished reading your book, ‘It's okay to fail, my son. Just loved the book. You
have covered up all the possible points like interest levels of the kids, frustration of
the teachers, memory and many more.

Learnt many things from your book. My son is at present in the 9th grade. I will
try my best to change my teaching techniques. Strengthen my belief and build his
confidence in me. And most of all, happiness should be the first in list of
priorities. Thank you for writing such a eye opening book

IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON
• I am a tenth standard student. Actually I bought this book for my formative
assessment. My teacher gave three choices - Ruskin Bond's book, Roal Dahl's
book, and your book. Really, I loved the story. A good story. I want a book about
father-daughter relationship , which I want to give to my father as a gift.

• Peratigsha N. – A reader and class X student. Book is referred by school.

• Your book ‘IT'S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON, is helping me a lot as my son has just
appeared his tenth exams and result is awaited. You have really brought old and
forgotten teachings of Shri Bhagvad Geeta and feelings of Mr. Rudyard Keepling
towards his son, in his poem "IF", in a light story form, for the society to learn.

• Cdr. (Retd.) DS Chhillar – A reader and father of a 14 years old.

• Your book is par excellence. In ur next edition, please add a small chapter on how
Javed Khan dealt with DICKSHIT and the slum goonda. That will satisfy the curious
readers. All the best .Looking forward to newer books from your pen.

• K M Ramanathan – A reader.

• I want to say that it is a very well written book with a great start and ending and with
an important message for parents especially to support their children instead of
pressurising them. It is a must read book for all parents, teachers and students
all over the world. When i was reading the book, not once I believed it’s a fiction
story as I found it to be a real one happening in front of me. I Feel after reading your
book all parents will spend some time with their children and provide them with the
necessary emotional support required and will motivate them to work towards their
passion.

• Ashish Jain – A reader.

• First of all kindly accept my heartiest congratulations and appreciation from the
bottom of my heart. I have completed the whole book reading in 4 to 5 seating. The
book has given a lot of insights to handle the growing pressure and stress of a
growing child. At the same time, focused on the fundamentals to handle the present
unwanted situations in order to survive & excel in life. I do personally agree the
philosophy and logic you have explained & emphasized to correct the whole
education system of our country. I strongly agree, this book is not only helpful for
young parents but is a must read for all corporate leaders as well.

Hat's off to you.

IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

• I was a very good student (going by the general standards of judging good
students) till the 9th grade but my performance steadily declined starting 10th.
Unfortunately this poor show continued till the end of my graduation in B.B.A. I
have and always will be a failure in the eyes of my father. What I am trying to
get through is I wish I had this insightful book earlier in my life and that my
parents could have understood my hunger for their appreciation!

The book has useful insights helpful in the realm of academics and personal
growth disguised as a Novel (to me the story was merely a cover as
an entertaining way ensure that the main points hit home) and for this hats off to
you sir. You have done a great deed.

• Muzammil Ismail Tambe – A reader.

• I just read out yours novel. It has many interesting topics inside and has many
more inspirational thought as well. I am a teacher and the chapter in book
‘Teacher: A hapless God?’ is a very heart touching. Looking for next will a
very very inspired story for yours nice thought.

• Pradeep - A reader and teacher

• It's just excellent. I got so much inspired with your thoughts as I am also a father
taking care of my children through the same thoughts. Keep writing innovative
ideas.

• Dr. Shantanu Mallick – Pain physician and father of 12 year old.

• This is the first novel of my life, I ordered the book being fascinated by the theme
showing a relationship between a father and a son as I am more close to my
father, but this beautiful piece of art took me to a journey that enlightened
me not only about a father son relationship but also gave an altogether new
perspective of how one can improve the performance of weak students by
providing the right atmosphere.

Thank you very much sir. I am short of words what it has given me and I
assure you that I would certainly use such learnings in my real life for the
betterment of my future students.

• Shubham Singhania – A reader and teacher in making

IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

• It was amazing experience to read your novel`s some part. It covers same
incidents that, I faced in my life where unsuccessful aspirations of parents are
being thrown upon tender shoulders of children. Your novel will be a good guide
to such parents.

After reading just a few pages I became a big fan of your and if it possible
can you please send me a copy of this Novel with your Autograph.

• Prakash Jha – A reader

indeed.

• Abhijith Radhakrishnan – A student and reader

• I thank you for bringing out such a fine book " It's okay to fail my son". I finished it
in one sitting. Most of the times the book took me to flashback. I relived academic
part of my childhood. I picked this book, fascinated by the title of the book.

If it’s possible for you, I request you to bring this book to masses via a movie, as
not all people are fond of reading. If you make a movie, it can reach masses.
This thought provoked me to write to you. I firmly believe that a movie based on
this book will reach those people (parents, teachers, students etc).

IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON

• What a wonderful book you have written sir, really maja aavi gai. In movie like 3 idots
and tare zamin par director have tried beautifully that we should go
by our interest and our education system or the teacher the way they
taught students that is not the right way but in both the movie they
have not shown which way teacher should teach? Sir, in your book you
have covered all the point like if student do not find interest, how
to improve memory I think almost everything is there in the book.
Thanks for giving such a wonderful book. And On top of the main page there is written that
A NATIONAL BESTSELLER but I wish within short time this book will be world's
best seller very soon.

– Shital Joshi – A reader from Gujarat.

• I am really happy to complete my journey to your book called ‘It’s okay to fail, my
son’. You are great father if this book is fact. You sacrificed all you have in your life
for your son. You have contributed your life for your country. So keep it up and serve
continue for your country. Especially for those lower class children who are not able
to get support from their parents. I am hungrily waiting your next book.

- Paldon – A reader

• Heartiest congratulations for your exemplary work in the form of this book. Any praising
adjective to describe this masterpiece work, would be an injustice. Not only parents &
teachers, anyone who reads this book and implements the teachings in his one transaction
a day, his life is bound to change and the world ultimately.

- Binod (Parent who believes 101% of what you have conveyed)

• Let me begin by saying that the best and most I liked about the book was the sentiment
behind writing it and the passion of the author which reflects in the writing and
content. Parenting is a constantly challenging job and we are striving constantly to choose
the best and the most congenial methodology and ways to raise our children and shape
them up for the world. I am not a particularly harsh or demanding parent as such but I have
learnt a lot of new things from the book and have recognized the need to make a few
IT’S OKAY TO FAIL, MY SON
changes with my parenting techniques. Constant refreshing of our methods for better is
not a bad idea at all. The book has said a lot without being overtly preachy. Everything
was well woven in an entertaining story. Delighted to have read the book.

- Dr. Harmanpreet Kaur

• Several times, it brought tears while reading, even my wife asked me What
happened? I got deep involvement with this book because I have same age son like
SACHIN. I am a police officer so I am not able to spend time with my children, after
reading this I resolved to spend quality time with my son and daughter.

- S. AMULDOSS, CHENNAI

• Your book ‘It's Okay to Fail, My Son’ is the Ramayana of the modern day child
psychology of great sacrifice, the Mahabharata of mental conflicts culminating
enlightenment, the Bible of humanity, the Odyssey of journey from unknown to
known...A must read for not only parents, teachers, but for every professional who
wants to be getting out of the rut.

- Sarkar Biplab – A reader and Author

• Now a day, we read news of suicide by students due to high expectations and pressure.
This book really helps to deal with current situation. I am strongly in the opine of the ideas
expressed by you. Thanks once again and except my gratitude for such a wonderful book.

- Hasan Chobarawala – A reader and Blog Writer

• I bought this book as I was going through some tough time in my business. The title of the
book is very catchy and that time I was not sure if I would find something really worthwhile
in the book. But, as I read it I was intrigued by simple details and their effectiveness in our
lives. I have been a Teach for India alumni and a teacher in past, I have done lot of similar
things where I stayed at a Slum overnight and experienced lives of those poor people and
how they strive to better the lives of their children. I have faced many such instances when
as a teacher it gets difficult to just to confine to the classroom and not reach out to child in
his real life scenario. Being a teacher has always been an enriching and overwhelming
experience. Loved reading the book and it was like a fresh gush of breeze in life.
