PLAN OF WORK

Michigan Standard I – Visionary Leadership

Goal 1: Develop my knowledge of making decisions to lead changes to the school.

Activity (Observation): I will observe how my mentor make decisions and talk with him about how he
leads changes to the school through decision making.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to observe his work and share his thoughts and experience
with me.

Goal 2: Develop my knowledge of data analysis.

Activity (Observation): I will observe and talk with my mentor about analyzing data and attend meetings
about data analysis.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will share his thoughts and allow me to attend meetings about data
analysis.

Michigan Standard II – Cultural & Instructional Leadership

Goal 1: Develop my knowledge of how to interview a candidate, how to mentor a new teacher and
create a culture of the school.

Activity (Observation): I will talk about interviewing a teacher and teacher training with my mentor.

Activity (Observation): I will observe how my mentor work with the faculties.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to observe his work and share his thoughts with me.

Goal 2: Develop my knowledge of evaluating teachers and staffs.

Activity (Observation): I will sit with my mentor in class when he observe and evaluate teachers and
discuss how he give the comment and talk about my opinions.

Timeline: This activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to sit in the classroom and observe the class.

Goal 3: Develop my knowledge of working with the community and helping kids with special needs.

Activity: (Observation & Participation): I will observe my mentor working with the community and
participate in making newsletters.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.


Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to attend activities which parents are involved and allow me
to help with the newsletter.

Michigan Standard III - Management

Goal 1: Increase my knowledge of school management.

Activities (Observation): I will talk with my mentor about the building budgeting and spending process.

Activities (Participation): I will participate in different drills.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to review school budget and share how he make the budget
and how he spend the money with me, he will also allow me to attend the safety drills.

Goal 2: Increase my knowledge of distributed leadership.

Activities (Observation): I will talk with my mentor about how to develop distributed leadership and talk
with the teachers who in charge of different activities.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to observe his work and share his thoughts with me.

Michigan Standard IV – Partnership

Goal: Develop my knowledge of how to work with the community and how to respond to community
interests and needs.

Activity (Participation): I will review the demographic information on student population and the school
community.

Activity (Observation): I will attend PTA meetings to see how the parents engaged in the school work.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to observe his work and attend PTA meetings.

Michigan Standard V – Ethic

Goal: Develop my knowledge of how to help every student with different need to learn and how to deal
with students’ problems.

Activity (Observation): I will talk with my mentor about how to promote social justice and observe how
my mentor deal with students’ problem.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will allow me to observe his work.


Michigan Standard VI - Advocacy

Goal: Develop my knowledge of how respond to the political, social, economic, legal and cultural
context.

Activity (Observation): I will talk with my mentor about the changing laws and how to respond to
different context.

Activity (Observation): I will talk with my mentor and other people about voting and observe the voting
process on Election Day.

Timeline: These activities will continue throughout the school year.

Support Needed: My mentor will share his ideas with me and allow me to observe his work.
