THE POWER OF WHY

An actionable workbook to discover the real reason WHY you want to work from home

I found my ideal work

style by answering my
WHY
Hi, my name is Gaze and for 8 years, my daily mantra is
another day, another rush hour commute/drive. By the time I
make it to the office, I'm drained, tired, and barely have
any energy to do anything before even starting. To add
more fun, I don’t have enough time to spend with my family
and friends. Sound familiar? Maybe that’s the same reason
why you’re here.

Just like you, I often ask myself, am I really living the life I
planned? There has to be a better way, right?! So here’s
what I did, I sat down, think really thoroughly and used the
power of why. I first heard this concept when I joined an
international professional development training. Our
mentor told us to always start with WHY and I agree!
Knowing your WHY would give you a clear sense of
purpose, it will enable you to focus your energy on what
matters most, compelling you to take risks and push
forward regardless of the odds. Once you know your WHY,
things that used to seem impossible to do suddenly
become possible especially when you see how they
support your WHYs.

In this guide, my goal is to help you answer your WHY and

eventually find the ideal work style for you.

Ready? Let’s go!

Always believe in yourself,

Gaze ✨

BEFORE WE START
Before we get started, I want you to do these 5
powerful things:

1. BE 100% HONEST with yourself. Cut the BS!

2. Make a promise to yourself (yes to YOURSELF),

that you will dedicate some YOU-time. I think 30
minutes to an hour will do.

3. Unplug. Make sure that you don’t have any

distractions. Turn off your smartphone/laptop.
Remove or stay away from anything (or anyone)
that can distract you.

4. Obviously, please don’t forget to print this

workbook before unplugging your devices so you
can use the worksheets i created just for you!

5. Relax and clear your mind. Go somewhere

peaceful somewhere you will be able to think
clearly. You can also light a candle and play
some jazz music in the background if you need
to.

#1: Who are you really?

YEP - We start here. It is very important to know oursel ves. The true mantra for
success is knowing yourself. You must be aware of your strengths, weaknesses, likes
and dislikes. Observe and be aware of your moods, reactions and responses to what

is happening around you because then you will be able to react in the right manner.

What’s your name? Who do others think you are? (ex: mom,
sister, boss, friend, lover etc.)

What makes you happy? What is causing stress in your life?

What do you love doing? What don’t you love or enjoy doing?

What are you passionate about? What are your dreams? Allow your mind to
run free & imagine that there is nothing
holding you back. What do you dream of
doing?

#2: How are you?
No, this is not a greeting. I’m really asking how are you feeling?
How’s life treating you so far?

How do you feel right this very moment?

How are you feeling for the last weeks? Are you happy? angry? stressed?
satisfied?

Now think about the time you were happy and free, when was that?

#3: What do you value most?
Write down 5 things you value most in your life then a brief explanation of what they mean
to you. Think one-word values like family, fun, learning, career, adventure, freedom etc.

Value Brief explanation of what they mean to you

Among your top 5 values, do you think you are compromising them in any way?

It is said over and over again, being clear on your own priorities and knowing what is
important to you, will help guide you on your life journey. Now let’s prioritize the
things you value most in your life, 1 being the highest priority and 5 as the lowest.

what is it that you really want to do?

Some guide questions:

• Do you picture yourself working for someone else?
• Are you planning to retire early to travel the world?
• Do you fantasise about a sea change somewhere…
• Are you a homebody?
• Do you want to focus on raising a family?
• Would you prefer to work full time, part time, casual, study or break out of the rat
race completely?
• If you had all the money in the world, no one to answer to, or knew you would be
