LETTERING
GUIDELINES
The
rules
for
lettering
in
choir
are
just
guidelines
that
help
Ms.
Peterson
determine
the
awards
at
the
end
of
the
academic
year.
The
requirements
to
earn
an
award
are
not
always
easy
and
will
require
choir
students
to
go
above
and
beyond
what
is
expected
in
the
classroom.
Those
chosen
to
letter
must
have
represented
the
choir
in
a
positive
way
through
their
commitment,
performance
and
efforts
throughout
the
year.
You
may
letter
more
than
once
throughout
your
choir
career.
To
earn
any
kind
of
award
designation,
you
must
be
enrolled
in
choir
for
the
entire
2014-‐
2015
Academic
Year
and
participate
in
ALL
mandatory
rehearsals,
concerts
and
contests.
REQUIREMENTS
In
order
to
earn
a
Varsity
Letter
at
the
end
of
each
academic
year,
you
must
meet
the
following
criteria:
Be
a
supportive
musician
to
everyone
and
HAVE
A
POSITIVE
ATTITUDE
for
the
rest
of
the
group!
Participate
in
ALL
mandatory
rehearsals,
concerts,
and
competitions.
You
must
earn
an
“A”
in
choir
–
both
semesters
(fall
and
spring)
If
you
have
participated
in
choir
four
years,
you
can
earn
a
varsity
letter
after
completing
your
senior
season
in
good
standing.
If
a
musician
transfers
from
another
school
and
has
been
in
choir
during
their
previous
years,
those
previous
years
will
be
counted
toward
the
letter.
It
is
up
to
Ms.
Peterson’s
discretion
regarding
a
student’s
attitude,
punctuality,
effort,
and
commitment
to
the
choral
program.
This
will
be
a
factor
as
to
whether
or
not
you
earn
the
award.
