Task 1 Instructional and Support Resources Chart
A wide range of services and resources are available within a school system to support
instruction. This chart allows you to become familiar with what is available to you within
your teaching context. Complete the chart by listing available instructional materials and
resources.

Building/District Policies or Programs ELL tutoring: offered after school and


during intersessions for students to receive
additional support.

Support Staff
Counselors: Counselors are available for
the school. They are responsible for
providing social, emotional, behavioral, and
academic treatments and guidance to the
school’s students.

Instructional Materials Achieve 3000: Offers students online and


differentiated instruction for literacy and
science. Students use “Kid/Teen Biz” to
read online articles and activities that are
designed to help improve their individual
reading/Lexile level.

Reflex: Students typically use Reflex to


improve and build on their fact fluency. It is
designed as an online game-liked fashion,
which offers students a fun approach to
improving their math scores.

Type of Resource One Example and Location

Curricular Programs GO Math: A math curricular program that


follows CCSS. This program offers a fun
approach to learning math and emphasizes
essential questions and big ideas.

IXL: Students typically use their math and


Language Arts modules to hone and build
on foundational skills. Students will use this
periodically in class, part of their homework,
and are encouraged to spend extra time on
it during breaks and intersessions.
Instructional Technology
Digital projector, external
audio speaker, access to computers in
computer lab and student laptops from
mobile carts, computer lab.

Access to Recorded Student Data i-Ready: Provides parents, students,


teachers, and administration with easy-to-
read analysis of student’s proficiency levels.
It also provides teachers with plans and
resources for differentiated instruction and
helps to place students into appropriate RTI
tiers.

Other School Liaison Officer (SLO)


An SLO serves as the primary liaison
between Hawaii’s community schools,
commanders, and military parents
pertaining to K-12 education. An SLO also
provides information for families,
organizations, and commands regarding
educational and transitional issues, as well
as facilitate communication between
military families on matters relating to
public and private schools as well as home
schooling.
